About this property

Dunkery Cottage is located in the heart of Exmoor National Park at Wheddon Cross. Dog friendly

Dunkery Cottage is one of 6 cottages converted from the original farm buildings in 1989. It is situated in Exmoor National Park and within walking distance (across the fields) of Wheddon Cross with a pub, village shop and petrol station. Within easy driving distance of local attractions: 7 miles from the medieval village of Dunster and Dunster Castle, Porlock and Tarr Steps, 9 miles from the beach & West Somerset Steam Railway.
Our cottages are set within 18 acres of our own grounds comprising gardens and fields with private access to a bridlepath and footpaths. There's a huge BBQ, picnic tables and a sunny south facing terrace - perfect for a cup of tea or early evening G & T! We also have a barn with table tennis, small pool table, table football & board games. Groups are also welcome to use the barn to eat together.
Enjoy our lovely homemade Somerset cream tea once you have settled in.

Dunkery Cottage faces due west and has a lovely open position with a small walled patio with garden furniture. This cottage gets superb sunsets from the living area; the kitchen window and double bedroom have wonderful views down the valley.
The lounge has a comfortable three piece suite, stone fireplace with an electric cast iron log effect fire plus two radiators. There is a 32″ TV with SKY Freeview and DVD player. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, ample china, pots and pans. Tea towels, washing up liquid, washing powder, dishwasher powder and a surface cleaner are provided.
Dining table and four chairs.
Upstairs to a landing, one double and one twin bedroom. Both have radiators. Each bedroom has comfortable beds which are made up for your arrival with fresh cotton linen. Bathroom with bath and shower. Towels and loo rolls are provided.
The cottage has gas central heating throughout.

Up to two dogs are welcome in Dunkery Cottage. We ask dogs to remain downstairs and off the furniture please. There is a £15 charge per dog per stay which will be added to your booking confirmation after you book on the Vrbo website.
There is an unfenced pond in the grounds so small children should be supervised.

About the host

Host profile image
We bought Little Quarme Cottages in 2016 and set about renovating the rather tired accommodation which we are now proud of. We live in a separate farm-house on site so are on hand if you have any queries or would like information about the local area.
We speak some French and German.

What makes this property unique

Little Quarme offers spectacular south facing views over the Quarme Valley. It's rural and peaceful but within walking distance (across the fields) of our local pub The Rest and Be Thankful.
