About this space
A charming & characterful 18th century stone cottage nestled in the heart of a pretty Oxfordshire village.
The house is deceptively spacious whilst still feeling cosy. There is a cottage garden to the front with a BBQ. Inside, a sociable kitchen dining room and two sitting rooms, one with a projector for movie nights.
With lots of walks on the doorstep and the Cotswolds, Oxford and the Chilterns a short drive away, this is the perfect countryside retreat!

OUT AND ABOUT:
There is a pub immediately opposite - the Blue Boar, which does good drinks and some basic pub food. Our favorite nearby spots are The White Hart in Fyfield (locally sourced ingredients brilliantly cooked); The Plough in West Hanney (community owned pub with excellent food and drink and a lovely atmosphere); and The Double Red Duke in Clanfield (high end gastropub - excellent food, beautiful décor and lovely service). We're close to both Oxford and the Cotswolds so there are no end of great places to eat and drink.
We love heading down to the Thames - you can walk there in 20 minutes from the cottage - it's very peaceful and a lovely spot on a sunny day. There's also the Uffington White Horse (the UK's oldest chalk hillside carving) which is about a 25 minute drive. It has gorgeous views across Oxfordshire and an ancient castle site.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house and will not be disturbed during their stay.
The property is setup to offer remote access with easy self check-in, and no direct contact with anyone is required. We offer 24/7 guest support should you need any support or assistance during your check-in or stay.
Other things to note
This is our home and we really love it - we hope you do too! We also hope that means you treat it as your own. Please enjoy the cottage and its quirky charm - it's not perfect but we think it will win you over. We'd appreciate you ensuring windows and doors are closed and locked when you leave. Our other big ask is to have respect for our lovely neighbour. She has shared access across the front of the property so you may see her from time to time. She keeps herself to herself and won't disturb you, but we want to stay on good terms!
Please do not attempt to light the fire in the living room, it does not have a working chimney.
As the cottage is 200 years old it does have low ceilings, and beams at head height, along with varying floor heights, please be careful when familiarizing yourself with the cottage.
- We do not allow parties, events or gatherings of any kind, and are conscious of maintaining good relationships with our neighbour.
- No pets upstairs or on furniture
- The full address will be provided prior to your check-in, together with remote access details.
- Mid-stay cleaning/linen can be organized on request for an additional charge, and is required for longer stays up to 30 days.
- We provide single-use toiletries to last a couple of days, and also a washing-up pack, dishwasher and washing tablets, toilet roll and kitchen roll. If more is needed then there is two Co-Ops only 5 minutes drive away, one in Kingston Bagpipe and the other in Southmoor.
