Outside you will find a balcony with a magnificent view over the city streets and the sea, the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine in the open air. Shops are 400 m away, while restaurants, bars and clubs are 200 m away. The castle and cathedral are 1 km away and Scaloni beach can be reached in 3 minutes on foot.

Historical notes on Otranto
Otranto, between sea and history
Otranto was born as a Messapian, then Roman and Byzantine center and then underwent the Aragonese domination, of which a significant trace remains with the presence of the great castle, around which the entire city developed over time.
The historic center of Otranto is among the most beautiful villages in Italy, and in its streets and alleys you can breathe the scent of the history that has characterized it.
In the fifteenth century Otranto was attacked by the Turkish fleet, which found the resistance of the Otranto, intent on not yielding to the request for abjuration made by the Muslims, who in response killed 800 citizens on the Colle della Minerva, those who today represent the Holy Martyrs of Otranto, whose remains are kept in the splendid Cathedral of Otranto, of Norman origin.
In the same Cathedral, Santa Maria Annunziata, you can see the largest mosaic in Italy, the Tree of Life, which extends along the aisles, made by the monk Pantaleone.
Otranto is also characterized by other churches that tell its story: Church of San Pietro, Church of the Madonna Dell'altomare, which dominates the seafront from above, Church of Santa Maria dei Martiri, Church of Santa Maria del Passo.
In the area there are also several crypts and catacombs dating back to the 10th / 11th century.

There are also several towers of the Otranto coast that served as a defensive bulwark against Saracen invasions: Torre Sant'emiliano, Torre Santo Stefano and Torre del Serpe, once used as a lighthouse, which today also stands out in the Otranto coat of arms.
