Wonderful cottage in Huså, Åre. Here you will find a calm that is good for the soul, both in summer and winter, but still has the pulse of Åre in the nearby area. With 4 bedrooms, you live well with the large family or perhaps 2 families together. You have one bathroom with a shower and a toilet where the washing machine is. The kitchen is fully equipped and is in an open plan together with the living room. Enjoy a wonderful meal and look out over an absolutely magical view of mountains and valleys.
In the hall you will find drying cabinets where you can hang your outerwear after a day on the ski slope or the ski trail.
To see and do in Huså and the surrounding area
Huså is located by Åreskutan – in the middle of the Jämtland mountains. Here you can ski in Gruvbackan, which has Sweden's best off-piste skiing. Cross-country skiing tracks are located about 3 km above the cabin, but there are also others in the village.
There are hiking trails, snowmobile trails, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, and you can even ride an Icelandic horse at Åre Mountain Riding if you want. Make your way to Åre village, have coffee at a cozy cafe or skip supper in the cabin one evening and go out and eat at a restaurant in close by area. Here there are cultural treasures from the mining era both in Huså By and up along Husån up to Bjelke's mine. If you want to explore the skiing in the nearby area, you can go to Trillevallen, Edsåsdalen or Bydalen. Scooter rental is available at Åreskutan's scooter rental.
Huså and Åre can be visited in both summer and winter season with all the activities in the area. Take the scooter, hike or take your bicycle on all the beautiful trails in the nearby area. Visit Husåberget, which is magically beautiful against both Kallsjön and Åreskutan. Hike or take the skis to and from the top of Åreskutan. Visit Huså waterfall or Tännforsen, which is usually called Sweden's largest waterfall. In winter, Tännforsen is covered by a beautiful sheet of ice that can enable an exciting walk under the waterfall. In May and June, the water flow is at its highest and it absolutely roars about the falls and the force becomes physically felt. During the summer you can visit Grundviken and its long sandy beach.
It takes about 1 hour to the Norwegian border, 2,5 hours to Trondheim, 1,5 hours to Östersund.
