The bay, which can only be approached by the general public over a long footpath, is almost private and has launching facilities available by prior arrangement. The small, sandy beach is perfect for swimming or kayaking and you may sometimes be joined by a seal. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs past Aberfforest; follow this for fantastic scenic walks to Newport beach and Dinas Head. The villages of Dinas and Newport with their shops, pubs and restaurants are under 2 miles away, a pleasant walk in good weather.
