About this property
The Lodge at Marrington
Set amongst a picturesque country estate with expansive views of the Shropshire countryside, this original gatehouse lodge provides a luxury, welcoming retreat, both inside and out, perfect for friends, family and your furry friends. On the outskirts of Chirbury village, you have the convenience of a Post Office, shop, and bakery, along with a pretty 12th-century church. Close to the border of England and Wales, you have an abundance of activities and places to explore with ease. Nearby Montgomery (5 miles) has a thrilling medieval castle to wander around, and why not sample delicious British wine in the Kerry Vale Vineyard (3.5 miles). The area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts – pick up the Offa’s Dyke Path or fill your days with adventures in The Shropshire Hills AONB. Visit nearby towns such as Church Stretton (16.5 miles) and Shrewsbury (20 miles), each with unique attractions, including historic buildings, museums, and artisan shops.
Stepping into this stylish retreat, you have a generously sized hallway to hang up outdoor wear as you settle into this welcoming space. A large, fully equipped kitchen sits at the rear of the property, where you can watch sheep grazing in the surrounding fields as you prepare dinner. Enjoy meals together in a separate dining room offering ample space for all to sit around the oak table. The lounge has been elegantly decorated, with a log burner taking centre stage, a Smart TV, and French doors leading out onto the patio area. There is also a utility space with washing facilities and a door to the outside, and there is a convenient downstairs shower room. Retreat to the games rooms with a football table for evening entertainment and fun fuelled competition! Heading upstairs, there is a comforting space for you to relax, read, or simply admire the expansive views of the Shropshire countryside. Surrounding the modern family bathroom, you'll find three beautifully furnished, spacious bedrooms. One boasts a king-size bed, another a double bed, while the third offers flexibility with a zip-and-link configuration, allowing for either a super-king-size or twin setup.
Extending your experience outside, you are also spoilt for quality views and amenities. The enclosed rear garden keeps it safe for children and dogs to frolic on the lawn, whereas the adults can soak in the hot tub admiring the far-reaching views of the country estate. Enjoy al fresco summer dining on the outdoor furniture and there is a fire pit that has a grill for BBQs, and circular benches. You also have access to walks straight from the front door through the extensive estate, with four waymarked walks following the river Camlad and exploring the woodland and rolling countryside.
