Sunrise Lodge is a Hilton Grand Vacations Club property at the Canyons base of Park City ski resort Starting ski season 2022/23, the new larger Sunrise Lift (possibly gondola) may be functional and located right across the street from Sunrise Lodge.. We own a one bedroom Premier unit over Christmas week. The dates for 2023 are December 23rd through December 30th, 2023. The renter must rent the entire week, not a portion. Additionally, due to requests during this past ski season, I have reserved another full ski week of a 1 BR Premier during spring break 2023 from March 11 through 18, 2023. The renter must rent the entire week for this time also. I have HGVC points left that I can use for one or two shorter stays during the 2022-23 ski season but these are dependent on availability on the Sunrise Lodge HGVC reservation site. This property is not amenable for long stays, and is best for 1 week or less (especially Saturday to Saturday). Minimum stay is 3 nights.
.
AT ALL OTHER TIMES OTHER THAN THE 2 SPECIFIC WEEKS LISTED ABOVE, WE CAN RESERVE A UNIT DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY (VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THE INFO ON HGVC at the very end of the description explaining HGVC & how I can reserve), and the unit available may be a 1 BR plus or 1 BR premier. The difference is the premier is on the top floor and has a higher ceiling in the main room. Premier units have 2 bathrooms, with the master bath having a tub and separate shower. The bedroom has a King size bed. The sofa bed is Queen sized. The one BR units are large at 880 SF! There are only 4 such units on the top floor and more on the other floors. Two of the units on the top floor have circular turrets with a large living area. All these units are spacious & sleep 4 easily, with a private BR, TV & bath, & a separate bath for the 3rd & 4th person(s) who would sleep on the sofa bed in the main room. Third & 4th person have their own closet to hang clothes. The 1 BR on the lower floors (also 880 SF) usually has the 2nd bathroom (shower only). All 1 BR have complete kitchens, completely stocked with cookware, bakeware, dishes, glasses, blender, etc. Main room has the generous living room with separate dining area (open design) and kitchen, with dining table accommodating 4 easily & stools at the kitchen counter. Plenty of storage for food items. Large refrigerator. Washer & dryer en suite. Fireplace. Most units have open balconies. Some have stairs. The Premier units with the turrets are on a single level (no stairs). Views include valley and/or ski slope. No pets allowed. Maid service is performed prior to arrival and once during a 7 day stay, and prior to a 3-4 day stay. The facility is ski in/ski out to the Sunrise Lift for Canyons Base area. Ski valet puts your skis out for pickup on your way to lift in morning, you return to same area when finished and they put away in afternoon. Exercise room. Heated outdoor swimming pool, and 2 hot tubs. Outdoor gas grills to cook on are under cover and by the pool. The 1 BR Unit allows one car for parking in garage during your stay. During the pandemic, you can park your own car. Previously, parking was valet only (price included). Sunrise Lodge provides a shuttle into the heart of old Park City so you don't have to drive & find parking. It leaves at the top of the hour from 8 am to 6 pm for the Park City ski base then on to main street, and from 7pm until 10 or 11 pm for Park City Main street. Depending on time of day, they will drop you at the grocery store (Smith's, large national chain). You need to call 2 hours before to reserve a spot on the shuttle. Friendly staff, excellent concierges. Hilton superior quality & maintenance. This place is magical during the winter, and gorgeous at Christmastime. On 12-23-21 evening, they had a terrific fireworks display at Canyon's base and on Xmas Eve you can go to the Park City ski resort base to watch the torchlight procession down the mountain on skis with Santa! Enjoy free cookies and hot chocolate while waiting. Numerous nearby restaurants & ski rental shops. Easy drive from SLC airport (35 minutes at the speed limit when road conditions good), or can Uber or reserve a transport service.
Sunrise Lodge will require your photo ID and credit card upon check in. The unit will be inspected after you check out. If anything is missing or damaged, they will charge you directly. If you notice any issues upon check in and room inspection, bring it to their attention right then. We have never had any problems. Check in is at 4 pm & check out is at 10 am. They will store your luggage for you until your room is ready if you want to hit the slopes. They also have a large bathroom/changing room available to shower, wash/dry your hair & change into your travel clothes after skiing, so you can get a full day in skiing on your departure day! Also large enough to take your bag in to repack. Very accommodating.
For 2 occupants, there is also a Studio Plus or Premier. They are 380 SF with either a king or 2 queen beds, a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Washer & dryer are available for free separate from the room. Some studios have balconies. The premier is located on the top floor. These are less expensive (and I have to adjust the price before your booking is accepted) but you still have access to all of Sunrise Lodge's amenities. I can also reserve 2 BR units and can quote the rate based on the points needed. The minimal rental is 3 nights, typically up to 7 nights due to the ownership structure.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON HOW Hilton Grand Vacation Club RESERVATION PROCESS WORKS. HGVC is an ownership timeshare and owners purchase a unit for either a specific week, like Christmas or New Year's Week, or for during the rest of ski season (and owners can then reserve "Home Week" 9 months in advance) or shoulder season or off season. These weeks are Saturday through Saturday. Owners can use the points they receive each year for whatever time and size unit they purchased to reserve a unit during open season which occurs within a few months from the desired rental time up to the day before. If an owner has reserved a week at the 9 month mark for home week and can't use it, then the owner can release the reservation without penalty 31 days or more in advance. If between 16 and 31 days, if released, there is a half penalty of the points, and if less than 16 days, all points used for the reservation are lost. What this means is that reservations are truly released at any time, but usually before the penalties start. When a unit is released, if there is high demand, then it literally can be available to reserve for less than an hour before another HGVC owner snatches it up. As an owner on VRBO/HomeAway, I can only communicate with you through VRBO/HomeAway until your reservation is secured and paid. That means if I am checking the HGVC site frequently to see if anything has come available, you need to check your e mails frequently since I need to know if you still want the unit before I book it on HGVC. If you have questions about the unit or Lodge, you can ask and if the answers are satisfactory, then if you change your booking request to allow me to accept your request, then the moment a unit becomes available, I can book it for you. Otherwise, I have to wait to hear back from you and we can lose the reservation. I have encountered the situation where I was booking the unit on HGVC, entered my credit card info, looked like I had the unit reserved only to get a message at the very end of the entire reservation process that someone else was reserving at the same time and got it before me. If that happens, and I had accepted your booking request, you receive a full refund. And I will keep looking for a unit for you, if you want me to. I work full time, so I am checking on this frequently as able at work and home for people I am assisting. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE UNITS ARE RESERVED FROM SATURDAY TO SATURDAY AND WHEN THEY ARE RELEASED IT IS THE SAME. Reservation requests that bridge separate reservation weeks are more difficult to accommodate, not impossible, but more difficult.
Please note that HGVC requires the most points to reserve Friday, Saturday and Sunday (62% of the amount required to reserve an entire week). I base the rental price on the number of HGVC points I have to use for the days requested, plus the HGVC rental fee and guest name change fee, then VRBO adds their fees. We suggest purchasing the cancellation insurance through VRBO in case you have any concern that you might have to cancel. HGVC charges me both a cancellation fee and part to all of the points I used to reserve depending on how close to the rental date the cancellation is.
The first 15 photos are ones I took during our stay in a 1 BR Premier 12/2021 turret room. The remainder are representative of units available at Sunrise Lodge. The front desk assigns the unit at check in. All units are maintained to the same high quality. If you encounter any issues, bring it immediately to their attention and it will be corrected promptly.
