Canceled on us day of

The morning of our stay (May 27), which I had booked and paid for on January 24, I realized I had not received check in procedures. When i messaged the host he/she messaged back that the apartment was booked that night and they didn’t know why I was allowed to book it. They did refund my purchase, but we were left scrambling for accommodations that night and it was pretty stressful.
