About Linda Laughlin
I have 2 beautiful daughters! Amelia and Grace! We currently live just around the bay in Charlevoix, MI. We like to come to Harbor Springs for the 4th of July, Christmas Tree lighting ceremony and the Annual Christmas Open House.
Linda Laughlin purchased this House in 1987
Why Linda Laughlin chose Harbor Springs
My Grandpa built this house back in the 50's. It's been in the family the whole time. I bought this house when I was 20 years old. In 2001, I had to move to Charlevoix for work, I didn't want to sell the house. I decided to turn it into a vacation rental. I don't have a lot of money. I am not trying to 'make' money off of it. I just need it to pay for itself in order to keep it! I like to keep the price down so EVERYONE can enjoy Harbor Springs! Although Harbor Springs is considered a destination for the wealthy, we'd like to keep it affordable so average people can vacation too! My house is nothing 'fancy'! Keep that in mind as you drive past all the big, fancy houses on Main Street! However, the house is very comfortable, clean and in a spectacular location.
What makes this House unique
One of the main 'unique benefits' or our house is, WE ALLOW ANIMALS! However, our location is everything! Our house is located just 2 blocks from down town. Located behind the Holy Childhood Church, you can faintly hear the church bells in the morning! Close enough to town to walk to dinner, church and the beach. Yet far enough out to be quiet and relaxing!

The location of this property is the #1 highlight. You can easily walk to town and enjoy many of the cute restaurants and shops in Harbor Springs. There were a few issues with the property that I wish we had been made aware of before hand so that we weren't worried about being charged for them all weekend. The overall accommodations were comfortable although the living room lacked comfortable seating for all four of us (the couch was a little run down and the other chairs were not the best). Also, do not expect to do any heavy cooking as the stove is very old and cooks very unevenly. Overall, this is a gem of a property that just needs a little sprucing up to be really amazing. I would stay here again.
I’m sorry to hear you weren’t happy with the seating. Nobody as brought it or the stove up as an issue. I will definitely look into both suggestions! Seating is tricky. The room is small, so I thought the couch with Chase lounge was a good option to get the most seating. The other chairs, I thought are very comfortable and Small enough to move them to wherever needed. I appreciate your input!
Great location, perfect little getaway!
My wife, our dog Rosco and myself really enjoyed our 3 night stay at this cozy home in Harbor Springs! The location is perfect, just a short 10 minute walk to all the downtown shops and restaurants. Then just a short drive to everything else— make sure to check out Pond Hill Winery just a 5-10 minute drive into the Tunnel of Trees! Look forward to coming back again! Thanks again for everything!

The pictures and price do not do it justice!
The pictures and description really do not communicate how charming and clean this place is. The location is also exceptionally lovely, just a 10 minute walk from town and a 10 minute walk from a small and beautiful nature preserve.
The bathroom is large with plenty of storage space and excellent hot water (seriously, we had 4 adults and nobody had to wait for a shower)
Thank you for sharing your home with us! Great location just a short walk from downtown Harbor Springs and a great price for the area. We were able to do several day trips during our stay: The U.P., Mackinac, Charlevoix, Petoskey. Great communication with owner, very timely. Thank you!
Great Get Away
Cute cottage, nice neighborhood
Walking distance to beautiful walking trails & great biking options!
Easy drive up thru Tunnel of Trees
Walk to town, lots of shops
Ate twice downtown at Pierson’s & Bar Harbor, both great!
Had a big time! Thank you!
We would recommend this property. The location is perfect. Close to town yet the feel of country. Five minutes in one direction and you are in the heart of town, five minutes the other and you are surrounded by forest. Lots of walking areas. We had a wonderful time and so did our dog. We had just a few little disappointments - the master bedroom had no blinds/curtains which made taking a nap or sleeping in difficult but maybe that was a good thing! Also there were no screens in any of the windows with the exception of one very tiny window. We love to open the windows when the weather is cool enough. Lastly the DVD player did not work. We were looking forward to watching some movies that we had brought. All in all it really was a good vacation and we hope to come back.
Sorry to hear you had disappointments.
I had no idea the DVD player wasn’t working. I would have come fixed it if you had let me know.
The windows...I am in the process of replacing them. There are screens but not installed. Most people want the central air so I don’t bother putting them in. If you would have asked, I could have come put then in!
I’m glad you would still recommend our house. Every year we try to make improvements! I will get a shade or curtain for the back bedroom window!
I try to reply to any concerns or questions quickly.
