About this property
The Beehive - One Bedroom House, Sleeps 2
Part of a group of three cheerful shepherd’s huts, this bright and inviting hideaway sits in a peaceful location along the northern edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. Perfect for exploring the glorious Black Mountains, the property is ideal for walkers, climbers and nature lovers discovering the area’s majestic scenery. Dating back almost a thousand years, the medieval Castell Bronllys sits just 150 metres from the site. A half-mile stroll will take you to Bronllys, where you will find a welcoming choice of places to eat and drink. The surrounding area has a wealth of attractions including Llangorse Lake, The Begwyns, and the nature reserves at Pwll y Wrach and Brechfa Pool (all within 10 miles). Hay-on-Wye (7.5 miles) is known for its fantastic selection of second-hand bookshops, while the popular market town of Brecon (8 miles) rests alongside the River Usk and is home to a Gothic cathedral. A short flight of four external steps leads up and into this light and inviting shepherd’s hut with wooden floors and panelling, and a high curved ceiling. Once you’re inside, a traditional wood burner sits just by the door, which combines with the underfloor heating to offer a warm and welcoming holiday base. Find the compact but well-appointed kitchen space to one side, offering all that’s needed to cook up a holiday meal, which can be enjoyed inside at the table, or al fresco-style out in the garden. At the end of each busy day away, retire to the inviting king-size bed, where a handy Smart TV invites relaxing evenings and lazy mornings. Completing the interior is a well-equipped shower room. Heading back outside, the peaceful garden area is an ideal space to settle back, dine alfresco and unwind in the bubbling hot tub. The private patio also has a choice of outdoor furniture and a fire pit, perfect for enjoying a BBQ on a sunny afternoon. Off-road parking is available for two cars.
