About this property

Golden Acres Mountain Lodge. Luxury in the wilderness.

My husband and I spent 35 years working in the Oil & Gas industry. We are excited to open our lodge to friends and family. We have spent the last five years constructing a first class lodge in the wilderness between the Rockies and Purcell mountain ranges. We will make your experience memorable. Our home is located 18 km south of Golden BC. We built this unique log home on a four acres of land which backs onto crown land. Peaceful and secluded for your relaxation.
This suite comes with breakfast and is over 600 sq feet, private entrance, and parking outside the door. Suite has a king bed and a queen pullout bed which would be suitable for children. Suite has a large bathroom with a corner heated Jacuzzi tub, double sinks with granite counter tops, large walk in shower, and a separate water closet.
This suite shares a common area with the second suite on this separate level from owners. The common area has two sofas, large TV with over 100 channels, wood burning fireplace, table and chairs, computer desk, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, toaster, sink, complimentary coffee and teas.
Large deck with BBQ, patio table and chairs are shared on the property. Hot tub has great views of the mountains and forest. Outdoor fire pit is also available.
Outdoor sauna with both dry and wet capabilities.
Golden area has everything to offer for the outdoor enthusiast. Skiing, golfing, snowshoeing, hiking, cross country skiing, fishing and is close to the property. Come and experience luxury in the wilderness.
A 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle is necessary November - March.

We purchased this property in June 2012. All that was on the site was weeds, trees, and a water well. We cleared the land, built a road, brought in power, septic system, and connected the water well. We started construction on the carriage house immediately and two years later began construction on the main lodge. Total construction was over five years to complete all buildings. Majority of the work was completed by us with specialized areas contracted out, such as the unique log work. This is a one of a kind custom hybrid log home with special features.

We have been dreaming of running a bed and breakfast for over 30 years. We both wanted to have something to do in our retirement years. We love meeting new people and hearing their stories. We take pride and enjoyment when our guests enjoy our home and breakfast. All breakfasts are homemade and contain local ingredients. Our vision is to provide an upscale holiday experience in a well equipped spotless home with high-end bedding and luxurious furnishings.

Cathy began cooking for her large family when she was only ten years old and has taken a number of culinary courses over the last twenty years. She also has all her recipes tested by Bruce before serving to guests.

Bruce is handyman extraordinaire as he deals with all maintenance in and around the property. His engineering background provides him with the knowledge and skills to fix almost anything.

Why they chose this property

Over the last thirty years, we have spent countless hours in the Columbia Valley area hiking, camping, snowshoeing, and fishing. We fell in love with the beauty of this area and decided to purchase land to share with our friends and family.

What makes this property unique

Sitting in the Canadian Rockies, Golden B.C. is surrounded by six of Canada’s most stunning national parks; Yoho, Glacier, Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Mount Revelstoke.

Use Golden as your base from which to experience the spectacular scenery, iconic hiking trails, waterfalls, lakes and heritage sites of the national parks.
