About this property
Cilynys - Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 6
This distinctive, single-storey hideaway is a perfect base for families or friends who want to explore all this beautiful landscape has to offer, from beach days to mountain adventures. Sleeping six guests, plus a canine companion, it sits above the lively seaside resort of Barmouth, with glorious vistas in all directions. You’ll find shops, cafes and pubs in Barmouth, along with museums, galleries, and a bustling harbour where you can book a dolphin-spotting boat trip across Cardigan Bay. The town’s golden sands stretch for miles, with masses of space for water sports, swimming and walks along the Coast Path. Take the train for a scenic journey to historic Harlech (10.5 miles). The colourful town is renowned for its dramatic castle, a World Heritage Site, perched on a crag against the backdrop of the splendid Snowdonia National Park. Head to Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park (14 miles) for hiking and biking trails.
Be amazed by the breathtaking views as you reach your detached holiday home. Dating back to the 1920s, the property retains its original, period wooden panelling throughout, while providing all of today’s mod cons. Leave coats and boots in the utility porch, which houses a separate WC, and enter the well-planned kitchen/diner, with space for all at the dining table for hearty meals after a great day out. Next door is the spacious lounge with a large picture window framing the panoramic vista. Comfortably furnished, it houses stylish sofas and a cosy wood burner. An ornamental fireplace adds a period touch, and a door opens onto the sheltered veranda. There are three inviting bedrooms: two doubles and a twin, all offering the same superb outlook. A spacious shower room completes the layout of this welcoming retreat.
Outside, the large, enclosed garden offers plenty of space for children and pets to play. The gravel patio has garden furniture and a firepit BBQ, perfect for outdoor dining as you watch the sun set across the mountains.
