Nestled amidst rugged moorland and traditional dry stone walls, this charming cottage provides a cosy and inviting retreat for hikers, cyclists, and adventurers exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Situated in the heart of Coverdale, the property boasts a peaceful rural setting just 2 miles from the quaint village of Carlton. Step outside to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and an abundance of scenic walking trails, including the stunning waterfalls at Aysgarth Falls (10 miles) and the challenging peaks of Buckden Pike and Great Whernside (10 miles). For a unique day out, The Forbidden Corner is just 5 miles away, while history lovers can visit Middleham Castle (6 miles) and the picturesque ruins of Jervaulx Abbey (8 miles). The lively market towns of Leyburn (8 miles) and Masham (13 miles) offer breweries, boutique shops, and excellent dining options, or explore the charming village of Hawes (18.5 miles) and Kettlewell (13.5 miles).
Offering an ancient stone façade and modernised interiors with wooden beams, this characterful cottage beautifully blends the old with the new. Step inside to find the cosy lounge space, a bijou area made for two, complete with a leather sofa, a Smart TV and a wood burner. A small dining table is perfect for intimate dinners. Up two steps, you’ll reach the elevated kitchen, with a neat breakfast bar opposite the ample appliances and stocked with essential spices and condiments. Next, you’ll find a king-size bedroom with an inviting bed to sink into at the end of each day, along with two steps leading up to a refreshing en-suite shower room.
Outside, a small, private patio area features outdoor seating, a charcoal BBQ and uninterrupted panoramic views. Shared grounds are also available, with additional patio furniture and a large BBQ, plus access to a moorland field with an additional seating area and firepit perfect for watching the sunset along the length of the Coverdale Valley. You can also enjoy access to a large shared lounge/dining space with a wood burner, sofas, dining table, books, projector and a selection of board games, along with a games barn featuring table tennis and darts. Please note there is a public footpath that runs through the grounds.
