So impressive! We’ve rented many vacation homes over 30+ years and this by far was the best! The location, the property, the sprawling layout, the amenities...FAR exceeded our expectations. Upon arrival, you begin to realize you’re in for an exceptional experience. The way the house is situated on its very own peninsula with its very own lighthouse is the first hint. Then when you step inside, you do a double take, wondering if you booked a cruise instead (especially in the dreamy master bedroom), except this stateroom has water on 3 sides!
My favorite spot? I had many! The corner of the sectional sofa on the huge upstairs deck for reading or stargazing, the bench on the point (next to the lighthouse) at sunset to the sound of the loons (which actually happened), floating on one of the many floats provided out in front of the lighthouse at sunset. Did I mention the sunset? We didn’t miss a single one – they were breathtaking. And let’s not forget a nice fire on the point to the sound of the small waves hitting the rocks.
There was no need to leave the house because the amenities addressed every need! We played numerous games of croquet on the rolling lawn on the point which feels like a movie set, cornhole by the water to music in the “tiki hut”, endless hours of floating on the protected cove, paddle boarding and kayaking all provided, and smores at the firepit.
Diana’s Baths has been on my bucket list for years so that was our single trip out and worth it. Tip: go on a weekday and go early. There’s very limited parking. It was August so the flow was low but perfect for exploring all the falls. Spring might be very different.
The house itself had everything we needed from the Weber grill in the “tiki bar” to the very equipped kitchen with chef’s stove, two coffee makers, panini maker, 2 refrigerators, tons of dining seating in and out. There were plenty of books and games, the perfect “TV room” complete with the coziest leather sectional, water on 3 sides, the perfect spot for a movie night with all the windows open (screened) and the beautiful lake breezes and lovely throws to go with those breezes – better than home!
There were so many nooks and spaces, although our group was small, I can see a larger group enjoying the luxury of the big square footage and many places to “get away” or join in the fun. The gradual sandy beaches on both sides were easy entry into the lake. The place was immaculate, bedding was divine, laundry room was a bonus.
