About this property

Magnificent Barn House nestled peacefully in Buckhorn Valley!

The outdoors is calling! Come stay and relax and enjoy the space and sunshine. Located on 40 acres, a year round creek runs through this property with 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom private home located 25 minutes from Fort Collins, Loveland, Cache la Poudre River, and Big Thompson River. Within an hour of Rocky Mountain National Park. Relax and unwind in this private, custom, and inviting guesthouse. Take advantage of being close to town, yet enjoy your own private getaway in the Colorado mountains.
The master bedroom has a queen bed, and the 2nd bedroom has two twin beds. One of the twin beds is in a loft up a narrow staircase that is best accessed by children or small adults. There is also a queen sized bed that pulls out from the couch in the main room.
There is a fully stocked kitchen including a dishwasher with everything you will need to make delicious meals while you are here. Just be sure to stop by the grocery store on the way out of town! We also include coffee, tea, orange juice, and some baked goods for breaktfast for the first morning of your stay to help you settle in. There is outdoor furniture so that you can relax and enjoy the views from the patio as well.
Please be advised, we live in the mountains, and therefore come some mountain living standards. Cell phone reception here is poor. AT&T is patchy in the barn home, but otherwise you will need to utilize WiFi calling if needed. Just unplug it! It is even easier. There is WiFi that is reliable.
Also, AWD or 4WD is needed for our driveway, and 4WD is required in the wintertime (Nov-April). There is a steep driveway to access the property. There are a lot of animals that live among us. We have seen elk, deer, bear, moose, bobcat, and rattlesnakes to name a few. Please be aware and respect the wildlife around us. There are chickens on the property and 2 larger dogs that are nice. Although there is a creek and trampoline on the property, these are private and not accessible to guests.
We live in a separate house on the property. We have small children and will sometimes be outside doing maintenance on the property or playing with the children. There is a sandbox and swing set on the property and you are welcome to it! The river on the property is off limits to guests as we use it for fly fishing lessons (if you are interested, please let us know!) and private use..

GREAT FOR FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN
Beautiful fall weekend in the mountains above Ft. Collins. The barn was very nice and we enjoyed staying there. Very relaxing with great views. The drive back and forth to Ft. Collins was longer than we thought it would be. The kids room was a bit small for our tall son but would be perfect for a younger child. Thanks for the memorable weekend!

Beautiful views, cute and cozy.
We enjoyed our stay. Close to all the fun things to do but seems like you're far away. Watch for deer!

Why they chose this property

This is our dream property. We have spent the past 10 years building the structures on this property and our style and tastes, but mostly our hard work, shine throughout.

What makes this property unique

There are so many custom built-ins! This is a timber framed home and its accents are throughout. The queen bed is suspended with timbers from the ceiling. We have river rock that were collected from our own Buckhorn Creek on the property that make up the bathroom counter. Lots of little touches to make you feel at home!
