The Mango Cottage property backs right up to an organic farm and is located just a few miles from beautiful Anna Maria Island. We own both vacant lots on either side of the cottage for enhanced privacy. When is season we have Mangos falling from our 150 year old, massive Mango tree. (also a lycée tree)
Palma Sola Florida is a unique area on the west coast of Florida. It is nestled between Palma Sola Bay, Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. This unique geography creates a very special climate, called a micro climate, that supports tropical fruit tree growth. Historically this area was a commercial tropical fruit tree plantation area supporting mangos, guavas, avocados, citrus and loquats.
The Mango Cottage was appropriately named because of the 150 year old mango tree that towers in the back yard. After having mango experts inspect the tree it is believed that this was one of the pioneer species that the early settlers planted in this area. It is truly the “Grandma” tree to Palma Sola! The coolest part is that it still produces fruit to this day. So come enjoy the rich history of Palma Sola and be just minutes to the Gulf beaches.
Our quaint cottage gives you the old Palma Sola Florida feel but has been well maintained and updated inside to assure a comfortable stay. It is a perfect house for your family vacation or any getaway with a short drive to the beautiful beaches of Anna Maria Island. Just down the road is the newly enhanced Robinson Preserve (it's free)a kayakers dream. Few miles from there is the DeSoto Preserve (with a fantastic mangrove walk and hidden beaches) hosted by the Department of the Interior's National Park Service (it's free)
After a day at the beach you will find the peace and quiet to be refreshing and relaxing at The Mango Cottage.
