Great location!
We loved this quaint beach house and it was perfect for us. The location can’t be beat, and the span of beach nearby was perfect for our young children thanks to the sandbar and tide pool which appeared at low tide. We will definitely be back!

Cute Yellow beach house
This was a comfortable little home that was perfect for our needs. Close to beach access which was great for paddle boarding, and bike riding was a cinch on Cedar Rd. Beds were comfortable. Internet was great. We did miss having cable TV but we got along with ROKU just fine for the week. The kitchen was adequate for cooking needs and the bathrooms were fine as well. The owner was quickly responsive to any questions raised which was also a plus. We look forward to returning next year!

Perfect vacation!!
We loved our vacation in Lewes! My daughter had a travel ball tournament nearby so we made a family vacation out of it. Lewes itself is a quiet and peaceful town and yet close to all of the local attractions. We did not like the traffic on the main road in Rehoboth so we were more than happy to stay in Lewes. My husband and I stayed with our children ages 11-17. The house was clean and very nicely decorated. The kitchen was well stocked. I always bring some kitchen items as you never know what will be at the house. I didn’t use any of my things as the kitchen had everything that we needed! Having the laundry there was great so we could wash and dry our beach towels and clothes. The outside shower was perfect for rinsing everything off after the beach. There is plenty of seating for the kids to space out and chill by themselves or grab one of the board games that was there. The neighborhood was very quiet. We went to the Boardwalk at Rehoboth one day. The kids enjoyed it but it was very crowded. They wanted to just stay at the beach in Lewes. They loved having the beach pretty much to themselves. The water was calm and actually very warm! It is such a short walk from the house to the beach that if some of the kids wanted to just hang at the house we could split up with no problem. We went to the beach during low tide and the kids had so much fun finding all of the crabs and different shells! Sunrise on the beach was just gorgeous and we had so much fun finding the horseshoe crab shells and other things that washed up during the night. It is a very short drive to Cape Henlopen state park. We would go there when the kids wanted an ocean beach. It is definitely not as crowded as Rehoboth and we thought it was much nicer! Plus there are so many other things to see and do in the State Park. It is definitely worth the trip. We also rented bikes for the week. Lewes and the surrounding area is very bike friendly and we had a wonderful time on the various trails. I would ride my bike into town and stop at the local coffee shop for a fantastic iced coffee. The kids loved stopping almost nightly at the local ice cream shop, definitely the best ice cream around! Overall we had a wonderful, relaxing time there and we would definitely rent the house again!

Our family of five lives in Maryland and we have been spending parts of our summer in Lewes for over 15 years. Our children grew up wading in the bay, fishing off the pier and exploring downtown Lewes. In 2017 we purchased a summer cottage in Lewes Beach and we couldn't be happier to share this magical place with other families.

Why they chose this property

The secret is out about Lewes and it is growing in popularity and house size! The yellow cottage is a throw back to the early days of Lewes - one of the few original cottages still standing. We love the balance of a modern interior with the cozy feel of a simple beach cottage. It really is a great place to get back to basics and reconnect with family.
