About Jeryn Lee
Be good to people! =)
Jeryn Lee purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Jeryn Lee chose Bowling Green
So many of our guests tell us this is their favorite place they've ever vacationed. It isn't us, it is the nature surrounding the place, the serene environment, the thriving ecosystem around you, nights spent staring at the stars from the King Sized memory foam bed, baths in the claw foot tub that overlooks the river, strolls down the river bank, stories told over a bonfire, and so much more.
What makes this Cabin unique
Did the river bring you here? We live on the Barren River, and it flows 135 beautiful miles. If you continue East on Barren River Road, on past the cabin you will come to a bridge, and this is where the Gasper River (to the left) meets the Barren River (to the right). We are located at a place the locals call the ‘Narrows’, which refers to the narrow strip of land between the two rivers. Just up ‘Snake Hill’ is a historic landmark called ‘Sally’s Rock’. Unfortunately, it is not open to the public. But, check it out on google – cool stuff! Walk down our concrete stairs, and head down to the water. These stairs allow access to put your boat(s) into the water, or to take a swim, but you do so at your own risk as the river, wildlife, and nature surrounding are inherently dangerous to humans. The depth of the water varies daily, and can rise rapidly, unexpectedly. If the water is a mirky brown color, it is best to not enter. This usually is a result of the current being swift, due to recent rain. Avoid entering the river during these times. If you do choose to enter the river we suggest you wear a life jacket, ensure a partner accompanies you, and most importantly - be careful for your own safety. You enter the water at your own risk. Our property lines are marked with orange tags, so please be respectful, and do not go onto our neighbors’ property. There is a trail that stretches the length of the property. We hope you enjoy and explore the real beauty of this place, but “please take nothing but pictures, and leave nothing but footprints”.
