The HA Whitney in is located at the intersection of Highways 151, 73, 16, 60 & -89. We are 1.5 blocks from the Columbus, Wisconsin Amtrak station; aproximately 31 minutes from the Dane County regional airport in Madison; 38 minutes from the University of Wisconsin, Madison; 1 hour 33 minutes from the General Mitchell International airport, Milwaukee; approximately 2 hours 19 minutes from O'Hare International airport, Chicago; and approximately 1 hour south of Wisconsin Dells. We are 1/2 block from the historic Downtown Columbus business district and about 3 blocks from the largest Antiques mall in Wisconsin. The town offers many good restaurants and beautiful architecture, including the Luis Sullivan Jewel Box, just two blocks away.
NOTE: There is a new EV Charger 2 blocks south behind city hall.

Excellent stop for the solo traveller
The location was easy to find, easy to access, had great food options around (especially for such a small town), and was a joy to stay in. Things were well stocked and everything was clean and orderly. If I'm ever in the area again, staying here will be a no-brainer.

Perfect little spot
My husband and I stayed just one night but were impressed. The place was immaculate! The location is close to restaurants, shops, and the antique mall. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay in this clean, welcoming, comfortable suite. Best continental breakfast. Great shower. Great linens. Comfortable bed. Great temperature control. Our request for extra linens was pleasantly granted.

Your innkeepers are Suzanne and John Walcott. Suzanne is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a B.S. in nursing. She holds holds the degrees of Master of Electronic Imaging, Photographic Craftsman and was the 2007 International Electronic Imager of the Year. She's also past president of the Chamber of Commerce and the South-Eastern Wisconsin Professional Photographers Association. And for many years was a leader in the AWANA program at Door Creek Church in Madison. John is a graduate of the U.S.Navy Photography school, Layton School of Art and holds the degrees of Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman. He is past president of Kiwanis, the South-Central and South-Eastern Wisconsin Professional Photographic Associations. He is currently chairman of the Columbus City Tourism John and Suzanne have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. They love to be outdoors and both enjoy cooking. John also drives for Wilde East Towne Honda. They also served on the parent advisory cabinet of Taylor University, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in our family since the mid-1950's, when my parents purchased it and added the Photographic Studio, Custom Frame Shop, and additional bedrooms. The studio closed 12/31/2022 and now is home to @ Ease Masssage Therapy.

Conveniently located near the historic downtown shopping area, the Amtrak Station, at the intersection of highways 16, 60, 73, 89 and 151. We are only 3 blocks form the Crawfish River and the largest antiques mall in Wisconsin. We are just a short distance from Madison, Wisconsin Dells, Devil's Lake, the Merrimac Ferry, Parfrey's Glen, Natural Bridge State Park, Gibraltar Park, Ledge Park, Glacial Drumlin Trail, Horicon Marsh, Milwaukee, Green Bay and Chicago.
