Dirty
The first impression of the house is magnificent, it is big, has many rooms. The house, as it is listed, has two kitchens, the main kitchen and a smaller one in the basement.. The owner was very nice walking us through the house, however, she kept saying that must guest spend all the time in the basement, insinuating that we should stay down there most of the time, she also asked us to use the refrigerator in the basement bc she had her stuff in the main one, which was ok with us, but there is no table in the basement so we had to go up and down the stairs with food, and dishes every meal. The worse of all is that the place is filthy (especially the kitchen in the basement), not dirty from the last stay, months dirty. The cabinet's doors and knobs are sticky , the cabinets shelves have crumbs all over, we had to wash all the plates, silverware, mugs and glasses that reused before using them. The bedrooms and bathrooms were not clean either, there is old dust throughout the place, the comforter in the master bedroom was dirty. The house is big and stunning but I would not stay there again. The price we payed is for a 4-5 star hotel , but the place gets only 1 from us.

Family Fun Week - July 2019
We rented Vera's house for a week the end of July for a multi-family vacation we do each year. It is a beautiful house on a quiet lake. There is flat lawn space directly off the basement patio (great for cornhole) and quite a large, but sloping, lawn before the lake. We generally all stayed in the basement area since there was a big sectional with TV and easy access kitchen. It never felt too tight even with 10 adults in and out. The only constructive critique I would give is that there are quite a few restrictions on use of some of the spaces. It turned out to not be an issue for our family, but it may be for some and would be helpful to have those listed in the VRBO description or at least given before the reservation is accepted. Overall, a wonderful property and Vera was very nice and responsive to any questions!

Description Not Accurate
We had a family reunion at this property, and the kitchen and eating situation was very frustrating and not accurately portrayed on the website. Main floor “spacious kitchen” fridge and stove top were not for guest use (fridge and freezer were full of owner’s items). We had to store food in kitchenette on the lower level: fridge downstairs was not full size, was not empty (1/3 full of leftover condiments and beverages) and was not clean. We had to use our ice chests to store additional food. There was no cupboard space in either kitchen to store our food items. There were not adequate plates/silverware/pots in the kitchenette, but the binder of house rules said we were not to move kitchen items between the two floors. No place to eat on lower level (except for four bar stools). No dishwasher on lower level where food prep had to be done. We ended up eating on paper products on the patio outside the lower level to decrease the amount of work. Not appropriate for a rental of this size for groups of up to ten people. Drawers and closets in many of the bedrooms were not emptied for guest use. Disabled smoke detectors in the rec room and bedroom above the garage. There are additional written house rules in a binder at the property that were not listed on the website, such as no shoes or food on carpeted areas; advance arrangement has to be made for use of one of the two dining tables (though the one available for our use could not accommodate 10 people). Bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. Owner was prompt in communicating with us and allowed us to check in at 11 a.m. since the property was not rented the day prior to our arrival. The lawn, lake and pier were great. There were two nice kayaks, floats, and lawn games for guest use. Adjacent houses are very close to this rental. Owner had scheduled pest control during our stay but canceled it when we objected to having that service done during our 3 ½ day stay there.
