This secluded, custom, riverfront cabin sits on a full wooded acre with private access to the Washougal River. Inside, you'll find a well-equipped kitchenette with everything you might need to prepare anything from quick snacks to full-course dinners. Dine together at the adjacent table, and then lounge by the efficient woodstove and watch something on the TV in the cozy living area. Outside, there's a deck overlooking the old fir forest as well as an upper-level balcony off the primary bedroom with a hammock, perfect for afternoon naps. And for the ultimate relaxation, enjoy a soak in the private hot tub.

This home is located just 40 miles northeast of Portland and 12 miles from downtown Washougal. The surrounding forest is filled with native northwestern plants and old-growth trees, some more than 300 years old. Many kinds of birds, ducks, geese and other wildlife also call this excellent spot home. The Washougal River itself is one of only two completely unpolluted rivers in this region. A wide variety of outdoor activities are possible here, yet the setting is secluded and free from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Enjoy easy, year-round access to hiking, boating, fishing, and skiing.

Not exactly what’s represented
Our stay was good, that being said. It’s listed as being secluded and private. It’s far from private and only secluded because of the location. The need to list that the hot tub is not private and it is not next to the house.. it’s across the muddy pine needle filed parking area and down a muddy trail. The hot tub is a great feature, but if your looking for seclusion and privacy.. this may not be the place for you. The house has a spa bathtub, that would be great if the neighbors construction guys didn’t walk by the clear glass window that is right at chest lever for a 5’9 person.. I will never understand why windows have see through blinds.. ridiculous when right next to the house and windows is the trail everyone seemed to use during our stay..on top of that, you only get about 1/4 full, about an inch above the intake and the jets before you run out of hot water.. got a big tub, you need a big water heater. Once I went to get in it.. the jets failed to work. Could have been operator error, but all you have to do generally ispush the button, you should be able to turn the button for different speeds is what it looked like, I couldn’t turn it. Last complaint why no coffee pot.. French press kinda sucks if you are in a hurry and want more then 2 ounces of coffee.. they could have at least had coffee for the Kurig .. but no, only tea! This is the USA- we drink coffee here. Lol. Threat view from the master bedroom.

Great house, very relaxing.
Wife and I were here to celebrate our anneversary and wanted a quiet and peaceful place to do so. We found the place to be just what we needed, the sound and view of the river were great, the hot tub was hot and ready to be used when we got there and we were immediatly ready to relax and enjoy ourselves. We were surprised how close the neighbors were, but honestly never heard or seen anyone other than what must've been a contractor next door. The fire place was nice, and there was plenty of extra wood ouside covered and dry. The first day the owners showed up to drop off a new toaster oven that needed replaced. They were very kind and made the swap very quickly to be out of our way. I got the impression they had tried to beat us there to do this since they had very little notice that the old one wasn't working. They even told us that we didn't have to leave at 2 (we had late checkout) if we wanted to stay longer which was very nice of them! We plan to return, and bring along a couple of kids whom we think will also very much enjoy the house and river. The WIFI is a little slow, but we live in an area similar where it just is what it is and we were used to that kind of wifi. It still streamed movies and kept us in contact with our kids as there is no cell service in this location.

Simple Necessities lacking
No toilet paper, paper towels, no pans or pots to be able to cook a meal. No hand rail on stairs. I was holding my baby and slipped down the stairs and hurt my back so bad.
