The district
We are 12 km south of Propriano.
You can come by ferry from Marseille and disembark at Propriano, or even from Toulon, disembark at Ajaccio. If you are traveling by plane, you have the choice of landing in Ajaccio or Figari. The two airports are equidistant and a 1.5 hour drive.
Belvedere-Campomoro is a charming little seaside resort located at the southern tip of the Gulf of Valinco, a classified and protected site. It is a very nice town: family atmosphere and Corsican guaranteed. It is also an authentic village with its church and the bells that you can still hear ringing, its bars and restaurants, its fishermen, a small grocery store, a renowned diving center, a kayak base.
Campomoro beach is a naturally protected cove. The waters are calm and offer contrasting colors: turquoise blue at the edge and intense and deep blues further offshore. This beautiful sandy beach is overlooked by the Genoese tower built on a rocky peak, the guardian of the place.
The scrub and the surrounding rocks bring to this dream setting the wild and unspoiled character that we appreciate in Corsica.
9 km away is the Propriano marina with all its shops, sea trips by boat. Six kilometers further, it is the very picturesque village of Sartène and its narrow streets which circulate between the gray granite houses. A central square where people meet on the terrace of the 4 cafes that surround it, pedestrian shopping streets, a church in which the procession of "Catenaccio" takes place ...
Continue the road and you will reach Tizzano, a delightful little fishing port, or even further afield, a 45-minute drive away, the unmissable town of Bonifacio built at the top of a dizzying cliff of white limestone. Take a boat trip to visit the cliff caves or the Lavezzi Islands, classified as a nature reserve.
You can also choose to cool off for a while in the mountains and walk on one of the many paths in the forest of the Bavella site ... A week's stay will not be enough to discover all the natural riches of the south of Corsica!
