Beautiful property!
We had a great stay! The house worked out perfectly for our group of 6 adults and 3 kids with plenty of space for everyone. Everything was clean and comfortable. Beautiful views from both decks and the kids loved playing on the lawn and watching the horses and cows. Great communication and flexibility from the host.

Beautiful place!
This house was everything we hoped for, with bonuses. The house was very clean and was very comfortable for 10 people. We flew in for a wedding in the town of Pony which is really out in God's country. The house in my opinion was one of the best stocked for families that wanted to cook meals. They have a lot of common spices there for your use as well. There was a cabinet dedicated to morning coffee, tea or hot chocolate - to some of my family that right there sold them on the house. I would highly recommend you get up early and sit on the front deck. I was up enjoying my peace and quiet when I discovered momma moose with her twins across the road up in the open meadow. She stayed in view for at least an hour. Absolutely beautiful for those that travel just to see wild life. Later with binoculars we spotted a brown bear with a cub farther up the hill. If I was to go back to this area I would most definitely rent this beautiful home.

Wedding Home Base
This was a great place for multiple family members to stay during a wedding at the Y-Knot close by. It had everything we needed and more and you cant beat the setting. Katie was very helpful and accomodating, evem when items were left behind. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in the area.

Welcome to Captain's Retreat, our family ranch, that I first moved into when I was a toddler. Formerly a home to myself, my parents, and my grandparents while it served as headquarters to a busy ranching operation, the ranch is now a quiet retreat for those looking to escape everything. While we now live in Bozeman, we've spent many wonderful weekends out our "outpost" and are pleased to share it with you.

Captain's Retreat is named in memory of my grandfather, Retired Navy Captain Richard E. Anderson who built the house and lived out his days there far away from the wars and conflict that consumed so much of his life.

Why they chose this property

Captain's Retreat was built by my father and grandfather. It's served as a home, ranch headquarters, and retreat for my family for the last 30+ years. We are honored to share this piece of our family history with you.
