About Susan Gilbert and Alan Peck
Alan and Susan bought Lovejoy Cottage in 2011. We simply fell in love with the undeveloped nature of this area. It’s a wonderful respite from our busy, stress-filled lives and provides an opportunity to commune with nature. We love sharing our cottage with guests and are always available to answer questions or help plan your vacation. We do have day jobs, so it may be a few hours before you hear from us, but we guarantee you will never get a canned response from someone not knowledgeable of the property. Alan used to lead canoe trips through the Allagash Waterway, and we wanted that sense of serenity while still being close to transportation hubs and amenities. We had been looking at various areas in Maine for years, and just knew this was our place when we saw it. It’s private and peaceful, and the setting, views, and location are simply spectacular. Our guests call it a “little piece of heaven” — and we certainly agree! When not working, we like to spend our time hiking, snowshoeing, traveling, fishing, and trying out new restaurants. Most of our time at the cottage has been spent lovingly renovating it with modern conveniences while still retaining its original charm and character. It’s truly been a labor of love for us and one we hope you, your family, and your loved ones will enjoy as well.
