2 Bedroom, 1 bath, sits on a channel leading to the Chain of Lakes
About Jaishree Khatri
We love to kayak and be in nature. Renting a cabin has always been our 'go to,' vacation and now we have a cabin to share with others.
Jaishree Khatri purchased this House in 2018
Why Jaishree Khatri chose Barryton
We fell in love with this property because we can get in our kayaks and out at the same place without the need for shuttle service or managing drop off locations. With nine lakes to explore, we can kayak for years before we see it all.

Lake house near lake
Wonderful experience. This was my first VRBO vacation. Scenery is beautiful! Neighbors were very nice and it's a small stroll to see the beautiful lake
A nice getaway with a few exceptions
Nice location, thanks for all the the extras from dishes to detergent. Not sure about parking as posted sign states private drive. Smell & taste of water was poor(especially in bathroom), no cell service or cable, should of brought radio. General cleanliness ok, could use deep cleaning such as mirrors, kitchen sink, door to back room badly scratched. Carpet very clean as well as the furniture . No alarm clock , wish I was made aware of.
We also think a radio will be nice to have there and thank you for the suggestion. We also appreciate your letting us know that a deep cleaning is needed and we will address that. I guess we figured most people use their cell phone as an alarm clock so we did not think to provide one though there are regular clocks in the house. Perhaps we will purchase an alarm clock/radio combo to address this need. We do not list cable as being one of our amenities- but we are sorry for the miscommunication because we really do want everyone to be comfortable. We encourage all guests to contact us if there are questions and gladly would have better explained that parking is available in front of the house and right behind the deck. As for the water issue, we are on well water as most cabins are and that can sometimes taste or smell different to those not used to it but the well is definitely certified as safe to drink. We are glad you enjoyed the location, other amenities offered, and general cleanliness. Thanks for staying with us and we hope it was relaxing and refreshing.
A perfect place to get away from it all!
We had a wonderful time at this property and found it even better than expected! The owners were very responsive and easy to reach for questions. The entire time we were there we just kept talking about how much we wanted to return again soon! It was just the perfect location to get off the grid and relax. The house was very clean, appointed with everything you could think of, and very comfortable. We loved being able to bring our dog with us and I think he enjoyed the house more than anyone! Barryton was close enough for a quick trip into town to pick up groceries (and check out the free wifi at the library lol). We had a wonderful time sitting around the camp fire, listening to the owls and frogs, just unwinding from the world. We also saw a porcupine walking down the road right by the cabin! One recommendation we would make is to maybe add a small radio as it would be nice to have some way to play a little music or check on the weather should a storm roll in. The only slight negative about our stay would be in relation to the pontoon boat. While we were excited to use it we found the motor to be undersized for the boat. Once on the lake we became stranded for quite some time as the engine was unable to contend with the winds. Luckily another boat was able to help us back to the channel but it was a little frightening. For our next stay I think we will stick to the kayaks! Other than that, it was just the perfect weekend and we highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quite place for a little relaxation!
Oh my goodness! I’m sorry to hear what happened to you guys out on the water. The 4 hp motor is what is allowed for our specific boat by MI standards but now that we know it does not handle windy days well we can warn upcoming guests who use it. We have only had it since June so we were not aware yet.
Thanks for the great review and we hope to host you again soon.

Great get a way!!
By far exceeded expectations. If you want peace and quiet. This is the place. Clean and had more amenities then others. Great experience
Loved loved it!
Just what I needed! Owners were awesome to work with and property was just what I needed.

Quiet, Relaxing Cottage in the woods
This owner has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Just unpack and relax. The cabin was large, clean and comfortable. Cable/Satellite and/or wi-fi would be a plus in the event of bad weather but wasn't an issue for us. The little town of Barryton is very charming. Williams Cafe is a must.
The owner was very easy to communicate with and made this a very nice experience.
Big Rapids offers a variety of shopping options, dinner options, breweries, and culture/arts activities. It takes a half hour to get to Big Rapids from the cabin.
