About Sue Keast
We are a 'mature' couple who have lived an adventurous and well-travelled life based around Paul's previous job in the corporate Oil Industry. Now we are happy to be home in NZ permanently, and have embarked upon the new adventure of owning and operating a boutique vineyard in Central Otago, NZ. Grey Ridge produces small quantities of top quality Pinot Noir in the most spectacular setting. Our house is elevated giving us beautiful views over the vineyard, and we love to share both the house and the views with guests who are interested in vineyards and wine.
Sue Keast purchased this Studio in 2015
Why Sue Keast chose Alexandra
We bought this vineyard because it was fully established and producing great wine. It is the right size for us to manage ourselves (with a little help), has a spacious and stylish house situated to enjoy all day sun, and most of all has spectacular views all year around. The views keep us energised and happy :) Central Otago has a wonderfully dry climate, which means that the hot summers are not humid and the cold winters are not damp. Of course we get some rain, and some mist but not much and not often. Central Otago is a photographers paradise at any time of year, with a great mixture of water, craggy rocks, farms, orchard and vineyards, as well as wild tussock-filled stretches of land and mountain. Although Alexandra is a small town, it is very friendly and has everything that you need. The bigger towns are only an hour or two of easy driving away, so we feel connected but not crowded.
What makes this Studio unique
We fell in love with this property because of its: Beautiful views, spacious, gracious and comfortable house, great wine, rural serenity, sunshine and vines. The perfect place for anyone who loves wine, photography, arts and crafts and history!
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
Alexandra is about an hours drive from both Queenstown and Wanaka, which are considered the adventure capitals of NZ.
Activities would include both normal and extreme sports : snowsports, lake-based watersports, bungy-jumping, whitewater rafting, paragliding, rock-climbing etc.
Many small towns within an hour of Alexandra have gold-mining and pioneering history, arts communities, orchards and of course VINEYARDS :)
