House was dirty and in bad shape- needs to be updated. Water pressure was nonexistent in downstairs shower.

Comfortable cabin.
The good: Very comfortable beds, plenty of linens, kitchen well stocked, great location to hot springs, host very communicative and helpful. No issues with solar or losing power, water was straight from tap and good. There was a TV, but we never used it so not sure about that. The heaters were very cozy and worked well. Not great: train is close and loud. It took three nights to be able to sleep through it. No washer/dryer. We took a walk hoping to be able to access the river, but it’s a very well posted “no trespassing” neighborhood, which was a bummer because the river is just right there. The plates were very greasy, literal clumps of grease on them when we got them out of cupboard. Since it’s required to do the dishes before we leave, this is probably more reflection on the people who stayed before us than the hosts.. (I’m not sure what the cleaning fee was for, because we have to clean the house before we leave- take out the trash, strip the beds, wash the dishes, etc. There is huge clumps of dust bunnies in dog hair under the beds, and nothing was really dusted, so I’m not quite sure what the cleaning fee goes to. Maybe laundry?) Overall it was a decent stay, great proximity to hot springs. Do take note of the Wi-Fi password though, because you’ll need that to get on WiFi so you can get the email with access code for the door, Which wasn’t sent until a couple hours before we were going to check in. There is no cell phone service at all in this area, so having the code a day before would have been helpful.

About the host

Hosted by Robbs Huus

Host profile image
The Huus family is an active family of 5 who love to travel, spend time outdoors, and relax at the cabin when not being shared with others. Melissa is a born and raised Montanan, Robbs is originally from Wyoming but quickly made Montana his home after high school. Western Montana is where they've planted roots. You can find them mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, or relaxing around a campfire in the summer. Skiing, snowboarding, and sledding take up their time in winter.

Why they chose this property

It's hard to find a reason why not! With deeded river access, an easy access from I-90 but far enough away from home and town to get away, it was hard not to fall in love with this cabin. There's plenty of room for everyone to stay comfortably, gorgeous views, bald eagles everywhere you turn, and the friendliest people in the area. It doesn't hurt to be a 5 minute drive to famous Quinn's Hotsprings!

What makes this property unique

The large kitchen has the ability to host a large group and with 5 bedrooms that's an important piece to the vacation puzzle. Relax on the upper deck in the morning with a cup of coffee to read a book and listen to birds chirp or watch Big Horn Sheep navigate the rocky mountainside across the river just outside your master bedroom. Live off-grid for a while with the solar and propane back up generator power, well water, and septic.
