Our family rented the cabin for 6 days and we had an amazing experience! The cabin is in great conditions, closed to mayor stores such as FredMeyer, Safeway, and few others. Well worth it
The property was clean, convenient and beautiful. Just what I would expect from an Alaskan log cabin. It was comfortable and well appointed and exceeded our expectations. The only potential glitch was we didn’t receive the access code until I called on the afternoon of arrival… which could have been a debacle if I was unable to reach Mike… who is in a different time zone. Fortunately he answered when I called and gave me the access code! Otherwise, a great destination!

About the host

Host profile image
I have been a professional landlord for over 20 years. I spend most of my time in Colorado, when I am not working I enjoy the outdoors. I fly fish, I climb mountains, I ride adventure motorcycles up and down the Baja, I white water raft. Coming to Alaska for the first time in 2000 got me hooked. I have fished on the Aleutians, on Kodiak Island, the coast of Wrangell, Ketchikan, the Kasilof, the Anchor, I have fished in the cook Inlet for Halibut and of course, I have fished on the Kenai from May until October from Cooper Landing to Kenai.
I purchased the Lazy Bear Lodge to be my home, just not right now, so until then I will provide a first class vacation rental suitable for Families, Couples and of course Fishermen.

Why they chose this property

I purchased this spectacular log home in December of 2018 in part due to: the Giant Logs, the floor plan, and most importantly the Location.
Since 2005 I have been fishing on the Kenai Peninsula. I have traveled from Homer to Seward looking for the perfect Log Home. I found it and it is now the Lazy Bear Lodge. We are 4 minutes to the Lower Kenai River, 20 minutes to the Kasilof, 60 minutes to Cooper Landing, 20 minutes to the middle section of the Kenai. The property is off of a municipally plowed road
( important in the winter). Being only 4 miles to grocery stores, restaurants or a movie theater, 3 miles to the Golf Course, this property and location has everything that I could wish for.
While on this private and treed property one forgets how near we are to amenities.

What makes this property unique

Giant British Columbia logs, superior construction, Private location only minutes from Starbucks, Sportsmans warehouse or some great restaurants. Tastefully decorated with rustic furnishings including an elk antler chandelier, fine leather furniture. Indoor/ Outdoor Fish filleting/processing which has vacuum sealer and freezer provided for our guest.
