When I moved from Switzerland to Playa del Carmen five years ago, I was lucky enough to have people here in Playa who could show and teach me life and culture here. Already at that time I thought "what a pity it is that most tourists do not have this luck, and thus miss a lot and do not get the full "Playa experience ". Many tourists visiting Playa, practically never leave the comfort zone (usually the zone near the beach) because of their own insecurity.

Over time it has become a desire of mine to offer a service that gives you the security you need to witness and enjoy the full "Playa experience". When I met my girlfriend Wendy, who has several years of experience with short term rentals in Playa del Carmen, we decided to buy an apartment for short term rentals.

So we started looking for an apartment, our goal was to find something close to the beach, in the center of Playa del Carmen, but still showing the local life, all with the security and comfort of a condo. After a long search, we finally came across Riva Sur, it was love at first sight.

Riva Sur offers exactly the location and comfort we want for our guests.

In a few minutes (about 5 minutes) you can reach the beach via a beautiful Plaza, which also offers several shops and restaurants. This stretch of beach is in our opinion one of the most beautiful and charming of Playa del Carmen, with several excellent and inexpensive restaurants right on the beach.

Also, the dock where the ferries cross to the island of Cozumel is right on this stretch of beach, so you could spontaneously make a detour to Cozumel and return the same day.

Furthermore, you can reach the well-known Quinta Avenida in just 2 to 3 minutes, based on the even better known Fifth Avenue of New York, the Quinta Avenida, which is an about 1.5 miles long shopping mile, also has a lot to offer. Of course a must see if you visit Playa.

Nevertheless, we want to offer our guests, as already mentioned before, more than just the usual tourist attractions, especially as you usually pay far too much on the Fifth Avenue (Quinta Avenida). we want to advise our guests and also recommend lesser-known "insider" restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, souvenirs and of course attractions.

Also noteworthy is that Riva Sur is right next to the large and quite well-known resort, Playacar. Admission is granted without any problems after a short identity card check. In the complex you will find again restaurants and some shops, also is the beautifully arranged facility excellent for jogging or for a leisurely stroll.

Just a little bit more about us, Wendy is from Zacatecas, which is more centrally located in Mexico, she lived in Paris for five years, then moved to Playa del Carmen, where she has always worked in French-speaking companies, and still now she is Working at the reception of a hotel that is mostly visited by French-speaking customers.

The thirst for adventure and the search for something new made me want to travel abroad after living in Switzerland for 30 years and Mexico was a good option since i already had family in Mexico, so I already had a safe haven.
