Ocean front cottage overlooking the bay of Port San Juan

Enjoy a large deck with fire pit overlooking the Pacific Ocean, watch wales, seals and sea birds in the wild while cooking dinner at the deck BBQ or while enjoying a drink relaxing in the deck chairs. If winter enjoy storm watching through floor to ceiling windows along side the indoor fireplace. With everything you would find in your home there is no need to go out. Although the town of Port Renfrew is very small if you would like to relax while your dinner, lunch or breakfast is made for you there are three places to dine in winter and four in the spring and summer. With gift shops and ice cream stands near by even if you don't want to take advantage of the local hiking, taking a stroll to the diners or the ice cream stand in summer is a great option..

Perfect Location

This was a great choice for a 3day 2night trip. Easy walking distance to food and the store, right next to the marina where our fishing charter was located. I highly recommend this location!

Great place to unwind

Perfect relaxing spot with a wonderful view.Comfortable & well appointed apartment with everything you need.We were off season so not a lot open in the area but we enjoyed the food in the pub, beach walks & taking in the great scenery

Beautiful View

This condo was perfect for my two adult daughters and myself. It is beautifully decorated and has everything you could need. We loved the deck and amazing view of the bay. Our only complaint was that we didn't stay longer.

Wild Port Renfrew

The property was exactly as described. A beautiful location We enjoyed the deck and made use of the fire pit. The view is outstanding. The owner was very responsive. The unit is very comfortable and the kitchen has all of the necessary equipment. Would stay here again.

Getaway with friends

It was a good stay, we all had fun. The place is super clean and beautiful. Lane is very responsive. Port Renfrew is such a small and nice little town. Downside: long 1 hour winding road from Sooke. We enjoyed going to Botanical Beach to see the tidal pool, , also checking out Hidden Waterfall in Sombrio Beaach.

A little piece of west coast paradise!

We totally enjoyed our stay at this property. It was perfect for our needs, very clean, comfortable and well-appointed. And Lane was a wonderful host. The view to die for!

This is a lovely little place with a view you won’t get tired of. We stayed a week in this cozy little place. Hiking, fishing, charming little restaurants, it’s all there for you. Enjoy! Pro Tip, bring the majority of your groceries with you, pickings are slim in the local market. Also, there is not laundry facility.

Relaxing getaway

The property was exactly what we were hoping for. It was very clean, comforable, and had all of the amenities we needed to cook some of our own meals. The view from the deck was incredible. The location provided easy access to a few of the Juan de Fuca trail heads, amazing food and some craft breweries. We had a rental car and everythig we wanted to explore was relatively close. Communication with Lane, the host, was always timely.

Beautiful refuge for nature adventures

The location is nestled between many beautiful beaches and hiking trails. The property is well appointed and very comfortable stay. We went in April which isn't quite in season yet so most restaurants were closed. Recommended picking up your groceries in towns both located 50km away prior to arriving. The general store has essentials but not items I would consider main meals. Loved location enough that I would consider moving across country to live here.

Laundry and cooking

The place was nice, clean and convenient. There was no laundry facilities so if your staying here for a period of time make sure to pack extra clothes! All seafood cooking needs to be done on the deck outside so I bought a propane boiler and pot for crab to ensure we were able to enjoy some of the bounty we took the trip for. Parking can be a little challenging due to the other places being rented on either side and the rotation of guests but we managed. All in all the views are beautiful, the beds are nice to sleep on, the extra bathroom was handy and the atmosphere was great.

Beautiful, well appointed, and perfect getaway for the weekend. A lovely condo to relax in after a day’s hike, cozy up by the fire and do nothing but look out at the gorgeous water view.

Hi my name is Lane, my wife Jackie and I have lived on Vancouver Island our entire lives. We reside an hour from our cottage and in most cases are available to help with places to go and things to do. I have hiked the famous West Coast Trail 8 times, (the trail head and orientation station are here in Port Renfrew) so if the 6 night seven day back country hike is something you would like to do I can provide lots of tips. Also the photos that you will find when staying in the cottage are all taken on the West Coast Trail. My wife and I enjoy Port Renfrew so much we bought the cottage for our own personal use and to rent to others that would like to enjoy this incredible coastal area. If you are looking for a few undisturbed days to spend with someone spacial Port Renfrew is fantastic, from staying outside on the deck or inside you will be able to enjoy the outdoors with the ocean side cottage or you can venture out to many of the beaches, rivers or lakes.
