About this property

This beautiful ski chalet is the perfect home base for your next vacation. Nestled at the bottom of Whitefish Mountain Resort it is just a few steps away from the ski runs and a short drive to restaurants and shops downtown Whitefish. Whether you are looking to visit in the summer or winter, there are a variety of activities that will keep you from getting restless. Whitefish Mountain Resort is a great mountain no matter your ability level or intent. If the slopes aren't your thing Whitefish has a variety of cute and unique shops and galleries that will have time flying by.

Whitefish Mountain Resort isn't the only attraction close by. This home is roughly 30 miles west of Glacier National Park and 30 miles from Flathead Lake. We also have Whitefish lake which is perfect for a day on the boat or an easy paddleboard to take in the sights.

The Chalet has living space that spans 3 floors and can house up to 14 people. There are 4 bedrooms, 5 and a half bathrooms as well as a private indoor sauna. The main living areas are open and are perfect for gathering around and sharing stories and laughs from the day.

The Wood Run Chalet is the perfect home base for your next ski vacation or mountain bike excursion. It is just a few steps from the ski runs, making mornings much more enjoyable. This home has a total of 4 bedrooms spanning 3 floors. The ground floor is where you will find a spacious bunk room, perfect for large groups of kids or maybe the rowdier adults. The bunk room has one bunk bed, one twin bed, and two trundle beds along with a double sleeper sofa. This bedroom also conveniently has a double bathroom with two toilets, two sinks, and two showers.

The main living area is on the second floor. There you will find a large open floor plan with great views of the mountain and valley below. The deck outside has room to enjoy the view and a BBQ for a cookout.

On the third floor, you will find two guest rooms as well as the indoor sauna.

Transportation from the airport can be arranged and there are regular free busses that take riders to town from the mountain and visa-versa. However, most of our guests prefer to have their own vehicle.

Adventuring outside of Glacier NP

We were traveling as a group of friends that contained 3 families to Glacier NP and were looking for a place that could accommodate all of us in a fun space that provided each family with personal necessities. The accommodations were about an hour to the NP gates, but provided us with a space to decompress after days of hiking and exploring. Great accommodation, we appreciated the 2 large refrigerators, 3 large bedrooms, and 'game room', big sitting area, balcony, garage, etc. Some updates needed (grill unsafe, hot tub empty, one shower didn't work, balcony rungs detached), but this was shared with the management, so hopefully will be updated soon. Beware that as a chalet, there are three floors that needed to be traversed daily via stairs.

Location was the only good thing…

There were many things with this property that we were not happy with. On the day we arrived, we walked into the entry way being very dirty. There was dirt down the hallway and drug up the stairs. It looked like they didn’t even move the rug to clean around it. The carpet was stained and torn up the stairs and throughout the house. The dishes in the kitchen were still dirty that were in the drawers. There was also food on the floor in the kitchen. One the barstools wheels was broken on arrival. The main level bedroom shower head did not work and the door knob to this bedroom was broken, when we arrived. The overall cleanliness was not great. When I contacted the property manager, her response was “I am sorry it’s our busy season and our housekeepers are tired.” The manager was very responsive and did help us when the garage keypad stopped working. I just don’t think you’re getting a good deal for what you pay for this property. The best thing about this property is the location.

Great place for family kids

Loved the ski in ski out. Has a large room we could stash the kids downstairs with rooms for all the adults. Host was very responsive!
