12 minutes drive from Opotiki and 25 minutes from Whakatane, a lovely peaceful and secluded area on the lovely Ohiwa harbour . Very safe for children. Full access to the harbour and channel from the front door. a very good boat ramp only 10 minutes away , leave your boat anchored in the channel for an early start to the fishing out at sea. Great flounder fishing. Large area with ample room for children to play.
The channel between the Bach and the island assures constant water and not hours of mud!!
Please note this holiday Bach may not be suitable for some elderly
Please remove any rubbish.
The Bach will accommodate 4 or 5 comfortably. If you have more people please ask. I do limit the amount of people to typically no more than 6 if some are tenting.
''Dave, we can't thank you enough! Being able to enjoy your little slice of paradise is a privilege for sure. We had a great time and dined on fresh flounder and Oysters daily. This is a great little spot that was very hard to leave after three nights. We were lucky with the weather and that made it even more enjoyable. A big thanks to Ian as well, a very helpful and pleasant gentleman. Thanks again Dave, we will be back!! "
"Words just can't do this place justice so I'm not even going to try and describe it anymore. Give me the option of Hawaii, Rarotonga, California etc... or Ohiwa. I'd pick Ohiwa hands down any day. As a small child I dreamt of a place like this and when we stay here the feeling is just surreal. A huge thank you to Ian once again, your visits are always welcome and it's a pleasure chatting with you. This most recent stay was one of the best weeks of my life. Our whole family loved it. Cheers

October 2020
Off the grid, no technology, waking up to a beautiful view of the water, spent all our days outside fishing, picking cockles, kayaking, swimming, drinking next to the fire pit! Felt so good to just enjoy what life was like before technology took over. I have experienced some very bad long drops in the past but I can honestly say, this was one clean and beautifully set up long drop! Husband caught a Kahawai & Trevally! Also caught an eel & sting ray which both went back to fight another day lol. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was great to feel fully relaxed, carefree for a few days ! Thank you so much Dave for letting us experience Heaven on earth in the beautiful
Ohiwa ! Highly recommended! .
