Why alisan314 chose Hilltop
Hilltop Views is close to town ( you can walk to town along the waterfront in approx. 20 mins) but far enough away to offer peace and quiet. It is not unusual to see native birds in the back garden. Perhaps the biggest attraction is the amazing views which can be seen from the kitchen, lounge and main bedroom but many guests tell us the best place to relax and enjoy the view with a beverage of your choice is the sunny conservatory. We live in Taupo as well and really enjoy being able to share the place that we love with other people. Hilltop Views is not used as our personal holiday home so you will not find any personal articles ( clothes in wardrobes or family pictures !) We have set this house up purely for the enjoyment of our guests.

Great Stay In Taupo
Our stay in Taupo was wonderful. House was clean and very comfortable with everything we required. Very good location with lots of walks we could do with our little traveling companion (dog). Thank you to hosts for lightning the fire and getting it cosy for our arrival on a very cold day.
Great place to stay.
Very spacious and well equipped. As advertised- no “surprises”. Driveway is steep but levels off up top. The grade gives the view- well worth it. Quiet residential setting. Short drive to shopping and restaurants. We were very satisfied this choice.
We didn’t communicate with owner nor did we need to. But gave 5 stars because there were no problems.
A great Bach to stay in
We really enjoyed our stay in Taupo and it was topped of by staying at this Bach, the views was beautiful from the big windows, It was lovely and clean, and had everything we needed. Thankyou for making your Bach available and would recommend this place, great for a family
Kiwi bach experience
Fabulous views, lots of heating options, had everything we needed for a lovely stay.
A point to note is that to access the small bunk room you need to go through the master bedroom and en suite.
Spacious. Clean. Warm. Short walk to lake front. Close to town. Quiet neighbourhood. Would stay again if the landlord would have us.
You would be most welcome Jason !
Great Location with fantastic views
Wonderful home in great location with breath taking views. We absolutely loved our time there. Made the best of what Taupo had to offer while the weather gods were smiling down on us. Would definitely consider staying here again.
Thanks again for your hospitality :)
The Lake Taupo region is one of the "must see" tourist/recreational areas in New Zealand. Taupo township is located right on the edge of Lake Taupo which not only offers wonderful recreational opportunities including trout fishing, sailing, water skiing, jet skiing, scenic cruises and swimming but many cafes and restaurants offer stunning lake views.Within 15 mins drive of Taupo township there are numerous golf courses including the iconic Wairakei International.
For the adventurous Taupo offers sky diving, bungy jumping and white water rafting but there are also loads of family activities including prawn fishing at Prawn Park, mini golf on the waterfront, cycling and horse riding plus a cinema complex.
If you are a walker there is something for everyone from an extensive lakeside walk ( Lions Walk) to a slightly more active riverside walk to the famous Hula Falls or you can tackle Mount Tauhara for great views over the township and lake.
Only an hours drive away is the stunning Tongariro National Park. This park is home to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing - a full day walk for the fit and active but the Park also offers a wide range of other walks and in the winter it is our winter wonderland offering skiiing, snowboarding and other family snow fun.
Taupo is a great place to base yourself for a longer period and explore other parts of the Central Plateau. Rotorua is just under an hours drive away, the Hawkes Bay (Napier/Hastings) is about 1.5 hours drive and the Waitoma Caves are also about an hours drive.
