Water's edge. Generous living space. 3 bedrooms (sleep 6) + caravan (sleeps 2)
As a family we all own this little bach, thanks to our wonderful mum who first discovered the area and got the ball rolling. My name is Nikki and I generally look after the bach bookings. I live in Auckland with my husband and 3 kids and we come up as often as we possibly can, as does my Mum and sister. For us, the bach is a retreat from the madness of the city and a place for us to get together and create life long family memories. We are happy to share our bach on Homeaway/bookabach and hope that those who come to stay love it as much as we do.
nikki99 purchased this House in 2014
Why nikki99 chose Pataua
Our mum first found this bach when she went on holiday with a friend in about 2010. She fell in love with the area instantly and in particular the unspoiled little baches that dotted along the waters edge. When the opportunity came up to buy one of them, as a family, we all agreed it was a "no brainer".
What makes this House unique
The absolute beach front location along with the ever changing picturesque view across the inlet and ocean make this the perfect spot. We hope people will appreciate our love for all things retro, giving the house a charming and classic original kiwi bach style.

Wonderful family holiday
Amazing position right on the beach in really cute bach which is very well equipped. Great for our kids, very safe and lots to explore. One thing to note is that the two single beds are in the entrance room where the bathroom and bed rooms go off. Would not be good for light sleepers but was fine for us.
Had a lovely stay, real kiwiana experience and a wee piece of paradise.
Lots to do in this beautiful piece of paradise! We enjoyed walks, kayaking, relaxing, the views, the peaceful tranquility and friendly environment. To be able to take our dogs too was a bonus, making sure we followed Owners rules having the dogs. Overall it was too short, a few more days would have been a bonus. A must to stay!
It always makes us so happy when our guest enjoy their stay and take advantage of all the wonderful things to see and do in the area. Thanks for being such fabulous guests and we would be happy to welcome you back anytime.
A great place to spend your holiday!
We were very happy with our experience. Communication was clear and friendly from the booking forward through to our stay. When we arrived the pictures of the bach were accurate with what we saw. The bach has everything we needed and has been well looked after and thoroughly stocked down to the little things we might need. What a little treasure. Thanks for sharing your property.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It makes us so happy when people enjoy their stay in our little bach.
We were 3 couples and loved staying here over Auckland Anniversary weekend.
Loved staying here, right on the beach with a stunning view! The tide was in when we arrived as well, so super inviting to go for a swim. Loved the ever-changing views with the lagoon emptying out. Thanks ever so much for allowing us to bring the dogs, it really made the weekend perfect. Bach is clean but the dishes in the cupboard had to be washed before we could use (previous guests!). And the deck furniture needs replacing, all too creaky (several broken chairs were around the corner). But good umbrella and good Weber BBQ. Also kayaks. Our only gripe was we could not have a decent shower and I wasted a ton of water trying to get the setting correct. Which I failed all 3 times...it was either scalding dangerously hot, or cold, could not find a nice in between temp, so gave up and could not wait to get home and have a good shower and wash my hair. That was why I reduced the review to 4* , otherwise it would have been 5*. The couple in the caravan were not happy as the door did not close properly and there was a large gap which let in the mosquitoes. So not really suitable for 3 couples. They could have slept inside in the 2 singles, but those beds are not in a 'bedroom' they are in a sort of hallway between the back door and the toilet, so not really suitable for a couple (only kids). Having said all that, we would love to return....so let us know when the shower is fixed :)
Thanks so much for your review. We are glad overall you enjoyed your stay at our magic little spot on the lagoon.
We love to get feedback because it helps us to know what people are experiencing. As I said in my emails to you at the time, we were so very sorry to hear about the shower. Unfortunately, as you know, there was a problem with the hot water tank and we had to get a plumber in to fix it. It had been working fine for the last guests so it was just a shame this happened during your stay. Rest assured it is all fixed now.
We couldn't find a problem with the caravan door, but we have had the loose window fixed. Also the broken chairs outside have been removed and replaced.
We have also spoken to our cleaner to make sure that she checks the dishes in the cupboards more carefully from now on. We do pride ourselves on having a high standard of cleanliness and we do try hard to keep on top of any maintenance as it comes to our attention. But as we have a lot of guests over the summer, sometimes things get broken and don't come to our attention until the next time we stay there ourselves.
Once again, thanks for your feedback.
