About David Pooch
We live on the North Shore and have five adult children and eight grand children. We have had enormous fun over the years at the bach with the kayaks, fishing, lawn cricket and so on
David Pooch purchased this House in 1988
Why David Pooch chose Tawharanui Peninsula
We bought this place because it was right on the water, level for grand children to play and only an hour from home. We also like the fact that there is lots of bird life there. Tui, wood pigeon, oyster catchers, grey heron, owl and even kookaburra (true, hey migrated from Kawau and you can hear them early mornig and in the evening)
What makes this House unique
7 minutes drive to Matakana. Newly renovated, brand new kitchen and dishwasher, cosy and warm.

Delivers as promised
Beautiful spot, everything as expected and needed. Very clean. Perfect place for a pause from the busyness of life.
Thank you and we look forward to returning for a third stay.
Excellent! Please come and stay again .
Nearby paradise spot. It’s a total kiwi experience, so peaceful and rejuvenating place!
Great! Come again some time
This our 5th stay which speaks for itself.
A lovely spot, thanks for sharing with us!
Thank you. Loved watching the kaka visiting every evening to feast on the macadamias. Please add this to your birdwatching booklet.
That I have never seen so the kaka must have found the macadamia quite recently. Thanks for the tip 😊will be great to see those rare birds close up.
Great quiet location.
The bay was perfect for kayaking or going for a swim. Short 5 min drive to Tawharanui beach, 10 min to Matakana. The Bach has everything you need to make a great vacation. Definitely 5 stars if the Bach was a bit cleaner when we arrived. Thanks for the opportunity to use your Bach David!
