Martin grew up in Wales and emigrated to NZ in 2008. He met Auckland-native Kylie in 2010 and they now take their ski holidays with son Alex (born 2016).
martll19 purchased this House in 2008
Why martll19 chose Raetihi
Our cottage is a classic NZ escape, a modest building with all the comforts of home, in a rural setting. We love this area for its untouched nature, laid-back atmosphere and, of course, amazing alpine activities! There are also great summer activities with world-class walks and hikes (such as the legendary Tongariro Crossing), beautiful forests and the stunning mountains themselves.
What makes this House unique
35 mins drive to get to the ski fields at Turoa OR Whakapapa - choose your side of the mountain depending on the best conditions.
No refunds for cancellations made after payment is made
Great little hideaway!
Everything exceeded our expectations - great location and property although it did take a few drive bys until we found it!
Loved being amongst the trees and seeing the cows each morning. Peaceful and private. Would book this place again.
Nice spot for a cute cottage
This was the 2nd of 3 baches that we stayed at during our holiday and we really loved our time here. The kids built a hut out of the fallen down trees and branches, we went walking up in the hills and played a lot of card games when we weren't out exploring the bike trails and walks in the region. Thanks for letting us stay at your property.
Well set up comfortable holiday home
Well set up, comfortable house it suited us just fine for what we were doing. . Only issues we had were that the TV didn't work ( doesn't seem to have an aerial that we could see anyway) also we couldn't get the WIFI to work
Thanks for the review and feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay! The TV is set up for DVDs only, we have a wide selection of films at the cottage to enjoy. The WIFI password is on the back of the modem.
Very cozy and homely for our winter break
The weather wasn’t very good so we spent a lot of time at the cottage not on the mountain but enjoyed walking on the property and catching up with our friends with the fire roaring. I would suggest having a mat inside front door or having under cover area outside for leaving your shoes because it was raining we brought in a bit of mud and grass from outside. Otherwise, we loved it!
Lovely place, quiet except for some road noise.
Lovely place, quiet except for some road noise. Great to be able to walk the property, and watch the stock. Our dogs loved it.
Hi Fiona, thanks for your nice comments, but very sorry to hear that you experienced some road noise - it is a bit dependent on the weather (wind direction and whether it has been raining or not) so you obviously had some bad luck there. Most people do comment on how quiet and peaceful it is - hopefully it didn't detract from your stay as we want everyone to have a nice relaxing time. Good to hear that you enjoyed the walks with your dogs though! : D
