Why Tanya chose Ngongotaha
This property is a 100 year old refurbished house that has very good energy. We love it as it has a nice "feel" and you are part of the neighbourhood.
What makes this House unique
We are pet friendly.

Comfy, spacious, warm, great location and good for guests with dogs.
The cottage is very spacious, warm, clean, comfortable and well presented. It has everything required for a pleasant stay, with a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds with nice linen, a fabulous bath and laundry facilities too. The large, fully fenced garden was great for the dogs and it was also wonderful to find an accommodation option that welcomed our dogs inside the house.
The large garden has various seating options and a BBQ for guest use, but as it was winter when we stayed, we didn't make use of this.
Tanya was a great host - communicative and helpful, wanting to make sure we would be warm and comfortable when she met us at the cottage on our arrival. She also helped to orientate us and gave us some local tips.
The location of the cottage is great, with essential services just down the road at Ngongotaha village (great coffee at Destiny!) and Rotorua itself just a short drive away.
We enjoyed many day trips in the area (notably the Blue Lake, the Redwoods, Hannah's Bay) and further afield with Papamoa beach only being an hour away by car. We also easily visited other areas in the wider Bay of Plenty, from the cottage.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Ngonotaha cottage and would definitely like to return to stay again.
A little far from the centre of town with no restaurants around but loved the mud pools and the Tamamutu tours. Overall a wonderful experience. Tanya very friendly and informative
Dog friendly cozy home, friendly owner
We’ve had a great long weekend in Rotorua! The owner Tanya’s super friendly and the house is really nice and cozy. Fully fenced backyard is perfect for the pup and Tanya even prepared some toys to entertain the little one too.
Great place to stay
Lovely place to stay with everything you need. Clean and tidy and Tanya is so helpful and "On to it". We will be looking forward to our next stay.
Would recommend for a family or a couple
Secure and safe, apart from a few nails sticking out of the deck that we nailed back in. We where able to take our family pet and where given the rules with having him there. Which was fine but also being told that if he barks continuously the neighbours will complain. When it was there dogs barking not mine. Felt abit rushed as well as i said we would be there by 1:30-2pm and we didn’t arrive till 3pm due to having to stop half way through our drive for my toddler. Apart from that lovely place and nice area to be
Great stay in Rotorua
We loved staying in the house. It was huge, very clean and bright. The house was well furnished and equipped with everything one needs. We especially appreciated the gas BBQ. The back yard was also a great place to relax after touring the area.
Tanya is a very gracious host and responded immediately to an inquiry we had about the oven. Within five minutes she popped by to ensure our issue was resolved.
We highly recommend this property.
We are located in Ngongotaha Village, which has all the local shops, parks and amenities, and are 8 kilometres from the central town area. We are close to some tourist attractions and Maori cultural experiences.
