Delwyn Barnett purchased this Apartment in 1885
Why Delwyn Barnett chose Opua
This property has been in the family since it was first shifted to this site in 1885. Because of the historic connections it is very special to me and I want to keep it well maintained for future generations.
What makes this Apartment unique
Historic 1885 homestead decorated in keeping with age, but supremely comfortable. This apartment has a lovely balcony from where guests can sit and watch all the activities in the harbour. A nice active yet relaxing view.

Tranquility in heaven
Ideal location for entry to the beautiful north. Very convenient. Peaceful and great for recharging one’s batteries.
Great option for a family
We had a great winter break here. Parents and 3 kids got away from it all and fished from the wharf, discovered monopoly and had Paihia and Kerikeri over the hill if we wanted to speed things up a bit. Property is in a great location and was in great condition. Delete very helpful with our bikes and stay.
Blissful winter break
Lovely property in a very convenient location. Friendly locals. A great place to relax and well located base from which to explore Northland.
Lovely place with a fantastic view! Very accommodating hosts and handy location.
Loved the spot with the view over the bay, always something to see and enjoy. The renovation is great and well done.
Love to come back once the building works on both sides are completed.
Beautifully decorated, clean, amazing views.were
This property was amazing, it had everything you needed, the kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and modern, the only thing there was no soap holders in the shower, so soap had to go on the floor. The property was beautifully decorated, the view was amazing. Close to the ferry to Russell. A great fish and chips shop. A small supermarket to buy groceries, and the sailing club for a drink. The renovations next door didn’t worry us as we were their over a weekend. I would definitely stay at this property again. Louise from Sydney Australia.
During the summer the Bay of Islands is alive with all sorts of leisure activities and exploration of the area. From Cream Trip and Hole in the Rock tours, to Dolphin watching and Cape Brett tours. Fishing tours are available, together with deep sea fishing and lots more.
