About Mary Ann Reed
Our holiday house was where we lived for five years when our three boys were young. Originally we planned to live in the Far North for one school term but we fell in love with the area and said goodbye to Auckland. Our house was brand new when we purchased it. I have fond memories of taking the boys to the beach after school. We had many fishing trips over these years and the boys all learnt to surf at Taupo Bay which is just down the road. When we moved to Kerikeri we did not want to sell our place in what I can only describe as paradise. So we kept our house on as our holiday bach and at every available opportunity travelled North for a family holiday. Our boys now no longer live at home but still love to travel North for family time at Coopers Beach. My husband David and I love sharing our Coopers Beach bach with you. When you rent our property you too will create beautiful memories. Mary Ann and David Reed
Mary Ann Reed purchased this House in 1997
Why Mary Ann Reed chose Coopers Beach
We fell in love with this property because it is by the sea. We wanted to live close to the sea and for us this was our dream home. I grew up in Auckland and David grew up in Paihia. Both of us had childhoods on the water. We wanted our children to experience what we had. All our boys love the sea and never say no to the opportunity to go fishing or surfing. Both popular New Zealand pastimes. They had a wonderful childhood away from the pressures of city living. Coopers Beach will continue to be a place we can get away from it all and we continue to enjoy it every opportunity we can.
What makes this House unique
Modern two storeyed self contained beach house with stunning sea views from our living area.We fell in love with the view and to this day we still appreciate it. Coopers Beach is one place we love relaxing with family and friends. The ability to have such close beach access without having to get into the car also has great appeal. In two minutes you can be on the beach. No matter what the season is we walk the length of the beach every day. I love nothing more than taking a dip in the sea over the summer months. With downstairs having its own bathroom our bach is ideal for two families. We have had many friends to stay and with two stories there is privacy for everybody. Close proximity to Mangonui also means we have easy access to this historical fishing village which boasts superb restaurants and great shops.

Great place with lovely views. Handy location to beach and easy access to the road.
Very clean and tidy. All requirements for a comfortable stay were available.
Highly recommended :-)
This is a good property with great views out from Coopers Beach
The property is perhaps a little dated now but still has all you will need for a great stay.
Plenty of space for everyone with many options for sleeping.
Amenities are all ok and pretty much all you will need.
Good location as a very short stroll down through the back yard to the beach. Plenty of room.
Stunning view. Close to the beach. Many beautiful walks close by.
great house nice and big, sunny deck, lots of utensils to use, Was a little hard to find but nice and handy to everything, would stay there again if in Mangonui. Thanks Mary Ann.
We had an amazing holiday. Coopers beach is a beautiful place and the home was lovely. We loved it. Thank you Mary Anne for having us.
Loved having you to stay. Great communication. You are very welcome to come back anytime.
Thank you for a lovely holiday in your spacious home.
Great views and everything that we needed.
Some road noise of course, being a main highway, but we slept downstairs, great.

My property is located at Coopers Beach in the Far North of New Zealand. We are a two storied property and have stunning sea views of Doubtless Bay from our top deck.
Our property is ideal for what you want your holiday to be. If you want a relaxing beach holiday we are a perfect location. Coopers Beach is a short two minute walk down a private walkway. It is the most beautiful beach in the world and ideal for families. Enjoy swimming in the sea or taking a stroll to either end of the beach. Pohutukawa trees line the beach and ideal for shade in the summer.
There is so much to do from our holiday home. Take a trip to Cape Reinga - the very tip of New Zealand. This is where the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea meet. It is an experience of a life time and in Maoridom this is where the spirits leave our homeland. An ideal way to travel to Cape Reinga is with a local tour bus company. This will give you the opportunity to experience driving along 90 mile beach. Dunerider is a popular company and you will also have the opportunity to boogie board on the sand dunes at Te Paki stream.
Closer to home experience Matai Bay one of New Zealand's top 5 beaches. Combine your Matai Bay experience with a trip to the Carrington Winery and enjoy a delicious lunch and local wines.
Keen golfers must visit our local Carrington Golf Course or Whangaroa Golf course just down the road.
Our world famous Mangonui Fish Shop is a short drive from our place. The fish is caught locally, always fresh and delicious. Chose other local restaurants to eat at. Mangonui has an excellent Thai and Indian Restaurant. The Waterfront Cafe has great local food and Little Kitchen is great for coffee and local cuisine.
For people who love to shop while on holiday enjoy browsing or buying from the local craft and clothes shops in Mangonui.
When I have guests I always take them to our local Whaling Museum at Butler Point. It is fascinating how the local whalers settled in this part of the world and an ideal opportunity to enjoy New Zealand native trees including one of New Zealand oldest pohutukawa trees. Take this opportunity to stroll through some beautiful old gardens and visit a early settler's house.
Just down the road from our bach is Rangikapiti Pa - an historical Maori Pa site. They were always built up high to watch for invaders. Well worth a visit and a great photo opportunity to take photos of Doubtless Bay.
There is so much to see and do. Just the opportunity to stroll down to Coopers Beach and have a swim or relax under the pohutukawa trees is a holiday in itself.
Enjoy the beautiful Far North.
