Cottage, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Bathrooms, (Sleeps 4)
We are both born in Hawkes Bay and after extensive travelling met each other when we both returned to settle down here. We have 2 children who are at the local school.
KirstieMo2 purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why KirstieMo2 chose Puketapu

Lovely little bach
Very peaceful, yet close to everything
Nice accommodation : simple, very clean, unfussy. Provision of basic food supplies was a nice touch - even included bacon and eggs.
The sealed concrete floor was a little cool on bare feet; slippers would be recommended in winter.... but I personally prefer that type of floor, feels lovely and clean. Underfloor heating in bathroom: nice touch.
Very friendly host.
Not such a grand view as some other places, but it's a perfectly pleasant peaceful farm outlook and setting.
The availability of the bikes was nice, we enjoyed a couple of hours of riding the bikes out to Puketapu and beyond.
Only reason for four stars is that I don't give five-star reviews very easily! It's a nice place.
I would be happy to stay again :)
Perfect rural retreat on the bike trail -with bikes!
Kirstie was extremely helpful and had thought of everything even a teapot, though note there is no wifi. Lovely place.
A hidden gem!
This beautiful self contained hideaway, was one of the highlights of my parents trip to New Zealand. They loved all the thoughtful touches and home comforts and the country setting. Thank you for looking after them so we'll ❤️
A good find in a top spot
Minutes away from the village and very close to the city. Fantastic access to the cycle trail along the river, the bikes provided give an excellent option for a pleasure ride locally. The house is clean, comfy and well equipped with everything, amazing bathroom with shower and the aircon is very handy for the hot afternoons. Although we were warned about agricultural machinery noise nearby but we didn't find it disturbing if at all.
Outstanding place to stay
I doubt I could have found a better place to stay in Napier, in particular as we were there for the Mission Concert, and travel to and from the concert was so easy.
As a place to stay this cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. From the fantastic foods supplied for our breakfast to the entire setup of the cottage we were just so impressed with everything. My wife Ingrid was blown away with the quality of the whole package, and Ingrid has worked before in some very elite accomodation venues
Great friendly communication from Kirste and nothing seemed to be too much trouble
Very very well done and we will definitely be back
Wow that is lovely to hear thank you so much! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for leaving the place so clean and tidy.
Just 5 minutes from Taradale which is a quaint little village with restaurants, shops, banks, library, park and playground. 2 minutes drive, 15 minutes cycle or a 30 minute walk to Puketapu - a country hamlet that has an award winning pub and a store for convenience items.
