About Angela Bowey
After retiring from the University in Scotland I travelled to many countries and the Bay of Islands was the most beautiful, friendly, and interesting place I found. After visiting here several times I decided to buy a house and move here. That was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Angela Bowey purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Angela Bowey chose Paihia
The advantage of this little cottage is it is fully self-contained with its own little area of land. We bought it so our family and friends from the UK could visit us and over the years we have improved it in many ways.
What makes this Cottage unique
Ideal for a couple seeking a peaceful retreat, beautiful scenery, with easy access to great restaurants and plenty of things to do.

Lovely little bach
Very enjoyable! Great location. Owner very helpful. Def consider coming again.
Very tidy, central located and not too close to busy township
Good value, pets allowed
Tidy and clean. Had all we needed. Walking distance to everything. A great secure yard for pets if you have them.
November 2019 5 night stay
The location is quick walk to the beach and the home was absolutely lovely! Everything you could need is provided, the covered deck was a wonderful addition, and it was so clean! I appreciated the washing machine, dishes and appliances. Fresh flowers were on the table when I arrived, so a beautiful touch. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.
Quiet yet close to activities
A good spot to tour the peninsula and enjoy the beaches. Angela was excellent to deal with and was there when we needed her. Close to beach and main road but so quiet at night for sleeping.
Spent 3 days in Paihia to tackle the trails at WMBT . accommodation was well situated clean and in a nice quiet neighbourhood. perfect to unwind after a hard days ride. would definitely return and recommend to friends
Angela's cottage is in a quiet area close to the beach, but less than a mile from the busy tourist resort of Paihia. There are some excellent restaurants and a wide range of water based activities and land based sports and recreations. The treaty between Maori and the British was signed at Waitangi, just two miles away. The Treaty Grounds and Museum at Waitangi are spectacular, both for their historical interest and beautiful scenery. The little cafe in the trees on the Treaty grounds is well worth a visit.
