LAKE MARAETAI: a water-sport paradise and an under-fished lake for trout fishing.
MANGAKINO GOLF CLUB: a great little course right on the shores of the lake.
WAIKATO RIVER TRAILS: 100k's of well maintained mountain bike or walking tracks catering to all levels along New Zealand's longest river - the mighty Waikato.
THE TIMBER TRAILS: close by is the 85km Timber Trails (in the Pureora Forest); you can walk or ride on some of the highest and longest suspension bridges in New Zealand, weaving its way through ancient forest, across ancestral lands of local Maori tribes, and along part of the historic Ongarue Tramway.
MANGAKINO MOTO-X PARK: with all weather tracks, its natural terrain is a major drawcard; two tracks, one for juniors and the other for senior riders.
SKI FIELDS: Mangakino is an easy drive to some of NZ's best ski fields.
MANGAKINO ITSELF: a quaint village in heartland NZ, well resourced with great cafes and local services (and an easy drive to Taupo or Rotorua).
A range of games, puzzles, activities and kids DVD's are available in the bach for your family to enjoy. A couple of kayaks, a SUP and a range of sports equipment are also available for some family fun.
