Kaiteriteri is the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park and boats leave from the beach heading North for drop-offs along the way including Anchorage, Torrent Bay and Awaroa. Take a short drive to Marahau for a walk in the park, or a kayak trip and collect cockles at low tide on the way home. Cycle the Great Taste Trail or head to the Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park for some recreational off-road biking. At the start of the Takaka Hill there’s a chilly swim in the source of the Riwaka river, and over the hill you can catch your dinner at the Anatoki Salmon Farm. Explore the region’s vineyards, potteries and artist’s studios or just chill out on golden sands of Breakers Bay (we think it’s the best beach in the world and it’s only a 3 minute stroll from the bach). Whether it’s a BBQ on the point overlooking Kaiteriteri beach or just relaxing under the olive tree reading, our family bach is wonderful place to unwind.
