Take in the most expansive views in Whale Bay, with 180-degree views of the ocean and surf breaks. BBQ and entertain on any one of the three multi-level decks, which are all fenced with plenty of room for children to run around. The Big Deck is a step back in time, a cosy wooden bach nestled in native bush, with plenty of character and only the basics (apart from excellent wifi).
The unbelievable star scape and breaking surf will lull you to sleep, and you'll be woken by the sound of Tuis in the morning. 300m walk to the surf break, 9 mins drive to Raglan town and cafes. There is a tv, but you won't need it as there are a range of board-games, comfortable old armchairs to relax in outside to star gaze and watch the sunset from the comfort of the decks.
The outdoor space is summer ready – with a BBQ, outdoor table and chairs. You'll be washing dishes by hand old school styles and there's no washing machine because we’re on tank water. It has a simple but clean shower.
The bach is very quiet and well off the road so it's safe and secure. There's parking for two cars and space to store boards/bikes/kayaks etc under the house. Pets are ok by prior arrangement - please ask first, and as long as they stay outside (covered verandah to sleep under). Linen is available at 15.00 per guest per night.
Raglan highlights within easy reach:
- The black-sand at Ngarunui Beach
- Long surf break at Manu Bay
- Bridal Veil Falls
- Ngarunui Beach
- Pancake Rocks
- Mt Karori
- The cliff road to Ruapuke

- The food and coffee in town is awesome.
Special conditions:
Please be aware that the bach is located in a quiet setting amongst native Kanuka trees, which is appreciated and valued by us and our neighbours. Whereas neighbours' properties aren't readily visible, noise travels in this quiet environment, and we ask that you respect our neighbours by following the house rules and rental terms. Thank you.
Extras: Linen (Optional, NZ$15.00 per guest per night);
