About Laurette Macky
Your host, the property owner, Laurette Macky was born and raised in France. She worked in the hospitality industry for several years in London where she met her Kiwi husband. After almost 14 years in the legal profession in France and New Zealand, Laurette decided to return to hospitality when she and her family moved north to Matakana. After carefully relocating three cottages onto their ‘slice of paradise’, they have lovingly undertaken a refurbishment and decoration process. BeauRegard has a sentimental connotation for Laurette, since it was the name of the village where her late dad grew up in the Vendee region in the west of France. Beauregard is French for ‘beautiful to look at’.

Why Laurette Macky chose Matakana
On the doorstep of Auckland, the Matakana region is however a world away from the big city lights. BeauRegard offers you the perfect base for exploring this magical region.

Quaint cottage in lovely setting
Thank you so much for providing such a nice place to stay. We really enjoyed our night spent here!
Great escape from the city
Lovely space in peaceful surroundings, close to everything.
A lovely peaceful place in a super location
We really enjoyed our stay here in Beauregard and it suited us very well to be independent for our food and somewhere lovely to sit and enjoy the environs later in the day and watch the bird life.
A delightful place and Laurette made us very welcome.

Can’t wait to come back!
We thought the cottages were lovely! Very quiet and lots of privacy between the cottages. The owners are wonderful and nothing was a problem. See you soon :)
Beautiful little Cottage.
This was a great stay. last minute booking was handled really well by Laurette who was really helpful. Close to Matakana and a beautiful location. The cottage is warm, cozy, and lovely inside. Can't really say enough about the place.
Beautiful grounds and cute cottages.
Beautiful grounds and cute cottages. Close to cafe.
The development of Matakana is a fairly recent phenomenon. This once rural village with only a few services is now the home of a boutique cinema complex, a range of sophisticated shops and galleries, a wonderful new children's playground, a purpose-built Farmer's Market, iconic public toilets,......and more. There are so many things "on" throughout The Matakana Coast, all year round. With many delightful vineyards, cafes & restaurants featuring local food and wine, dining out is an adventure in itself. Or you may want an invigorating coastal or bush walk and a picnic at one of our four Regional Parks. Within the Matakana Coast area's relaxing rural setting you’ll also discover Warkworth, a thriving riverside town as well as numerous villages each with their own distinctive character.
