A bit of everything
Surf, great fish n chips and cafe, short drive to town. Comfortable beds, hot shower, space to spread out, made it an enjoyable time.

Barking dog
The property was nice to stay in and in good proximity to the beach and shops however there was a dog tied up next door that barked non stop our whole trip. There were also a lot of wandering and malnourished dogs in the neighborhood which was sad to see

Chained Dog Barking Constantly
First impressions were very good. It’s a nice home, was lovely and clean, good amount of space and owners have some nice art which made it feel very welcoming. HOWEVER the immediate neighbour had a dog chained on the fenced line between the two properties which totally ruined our holiday. We were there for eleven nights and with the exception of a one time short couple of hours this poor animal was chained 24/7 for the entire length of our stay. It was very stressed barked continually from around 6.30am to nearly midnight, and also barked at times through the night waking us up. The barking was relentlessly bad during the New Year period when there were more people going past it’s gate. I contacted the property owners who suggested I contact the dog control in the area but frankly we were so intimidated by the neighbour that we were scared of retaliation. One evening I was so distressed for the dog, and by the barking I called over the fence to the neighbour and asked if he could at least put the dog inside for few hours. His reaction was to come up to fence, swearing and abusing me, shaking the fence as if he was about to leap over it. I hurried inside before things got worse. I contacted the owner again about the problem, they said they would ask another neighbour to have a word but we didn’t hear anything back and nothing changed. Then I got no response to my following texts about the issues. We spent money hard saved money on this holiday, even when we probably shouldn’t have but we and our young adult kids needed it. We had a pretty bad time as a family during COVID period including family members stuck overseas for months, big drop in income and the slow painful death of my father due to him not being diagnosed properly and quickly during the lockdown. It was meant to be a time of healing for us all.Unfortunately it wasn’t. The kids only stayed a few days as the dog’s terrible situation and subsequent behaviour made things so upsetting and it was impossible to relax. So my advice- Do Not Book This Holiday Home unless the owner can guarantee you that this or another chained dog is not living next door. Get it in writing with a guarantee of refund if the problem still exists.
