Bach or holiday home, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bathrooms, (Sleeps 5)
- english, Korean
Hi there, my name is Nadine and I am a photographer who lives in Dunedin, a brilliant small city filled with arts, great food and even better coffee. My partner Jake originally came from Korea and is a home handyman and golfer by day and a chef, creating some of that great food, by night!
Nadine_and_Jake purchased this House in 2010
Why Nadine_and_Jake chose Dunedin
This house, built at the start of last century was originally purchased as my home because I loved the features, the feel and the light. I also loved the rambling cottage garden and the green and private back yard. I always wanted a house with water nearby and when there is enough water in the creek, the sun is high, and the trees green, it is like being in the countryside. It is situated in North East Valley which is a great part of town filled with friendly people and small local businesses.
What makes this House unique
An ideal house for relaxing but also in walking distance to Baldwin Street, the world's steepest residential street! It is also in walking distance to the bus stop or the Gardens supermarket and other stores. It is a 10 minute drive to the stadium, and 15 minutes in busy traffic to the city centre, the beach or pretty much anywhere! I love vintage and retro furnishing and this house suits the items I gathered over time.

A great classic spacious Dunedin villa with wood stove, back patio, right next to creek and big city park, access to walking/hiking trails. Kitchen is wonderfully outfitted with high-quality cookware and appliances. Friendly, communicative hosts. We spent 3 months here and really enjoyed it.
Dunedin is a great, if cool, city with great environs.
Very useful as a base for visiting south of South Island. Fell in love with Highway 87 and over the mountains to Clyde/Cromwell/Queenstown and places in between.
Equally south to Bluff and that lookout is a must visit.
Great place to see Dunedin from. House was beautiful, had everything you need, on a quiet street.
Comfortable, well-equipped holiday home
We enjoyed our stay in this very well-equipped and comfortable holiday home, just a few minutes walk from the famous Baldwin St. Good communication from the owners. Would be more than happy to stay here again.
We spent a week here, and had a great stay. The house has loads of character and was spotlessly clean. Captured sun through the day and a peaceful cottage garden. The house is very well equipped with everything you could need, warm, dry and comfortable. It was great to have everything we needed to cook proper meals and loads of storage space.
Signal Hill Lookout and Bracken Lookout are both a short drive from the house. For the fit who are good with going uphill, from nearby Bethune’s Gully there is a dirt path up to the Mt Cargill lookout. Alternatively you can take the still steep but shorter walk to the top from the Organ Pipes. If that is all too ambitious you could simply take the very short walk to stand at the bottom of Baldwin Street, the “world’s steepest residential street” or even attempt the walk to the top!
