Hello, my name is Mata Puia. I'm full Cook Islander and currently work and live in Auckland, New Zealand. My parents Mii and Motu live on the property. They are very friendly and willing to help you have a joyful and memorable time in our beautiful paradise Rarotonga.
Why MataP811 chose Muri
This bach is in the perfect hotspot for tourist attractions. It's only a 5 min walking distance to the beach, popular restaurants, bars, cafe, internet facilities and more.

Lovely little home
We loved staying at ‘The Bach’ in Muri.
It was comfortable and well laid out, back from the main town enough to get away from the tourist area but not so far that we couldn’t wander down to the beach within a few minutes.
Mii and her family welcomed us with beautiful home grown fruit and warm Rarotongan hospitality.
Thank you Kate. Please visit us again :-)
Lovely little intimate one bedroom bach
Mata was very helpful and made the stay enjoyable. Room was very charming and was so close to Muri. Would stay again.
Hospitality by owner Mata when first we arrived was first class. Driving us around to get our rental organised, meeting your anau and seeing how the locals really live. Accommodation was ample providing a comfortable bed, shower and washing facilities. Love how you provided drinking water. Cost to stay was relative to what was provided. The roosters could probably learn to crow at the right time of day. Other than that tino pai.

This accommodation needs a good clean from top to bottom. On arrival there were dead insects, dog fur and dried centipedes on the dirty unmopped floor. Dead insects and dust on the bedspreads and a VERY serious ant problem. (Not something you want to deal with when on holiday.) There are no curtains for privacy at night and during the day, the sun shines right in from all sides as there are a lot of windows making the place unbearably hot. (There is one rusty old fan). No mosquito nets, only nettings on the windows and the shower is grotty. The property itself is unkempt. Its a mess. The owners believe that their bach was clean and any of the issues I had would have been an “easy fix”. I disagreed. I decided to leave the property as I was very unhappy, disappointed and started to get stressed. I expected to be able to move right in without having to sweep the floor or shake out bedding etc. Not good enough. Paying out for extra accommodation was not in our budget but we managed to find a back packers hostel which was so much better. I highly recommend Rarotonga Backpackers and their garden bungalows, fully equipped, better value and most of all, clean and comfortable. I do not recommend this bach accommodation.
This guest did not give us the opportunity to investigate or rectify the issue. I did see one small dried millipede in the corner of the bathroom (easy fix), I see the ants which took us minutes to spray around the bach (easy fix) again. the dust on the bedspread, new sheets were provided in the bach (easy fix). I was disappointed that the guest left without making a complaint to the owners. The photos did show there was only nettings on the windows, but I will look into some sunblock curtains as well. It's unfortunate this has happen and we pride ourselves to not let this happen again.
Absolutely loved this accommodation will definitely be back
First time in Rarotonga and I absolutely loved it! This accommodation was perfect, has everything you need. The host was so amazing and super helpful, took me to get my license and scooter and showed me around the island! They did so much for me during my stay and I’m already planning my next trip!!
experience living in a Raro community
we stayed 7 nights, it is what you get in the photos. You need to hire a car or scooter to get around the island. Beautiful Island to relax and unwind.
