About this property
Quiet ground floor suite in west end Halifax.
Looking for a cozy and quiet homebase from which to explore downtown Halifax, which will still allow you to escape from the noise and hustle? This is a private, ground floor suite in our home, in a tree-lined, family-oriented, residential neighborhood. Easy access to the highway makes this a good choice if you are making day trips to the South Shore or Annapolis Valley.
There are many good restaurants, shops, malls, and bike trails nearby. On-street parking is free and easy. There is excellent access to public transit for those wishing to leave the car behind. Want to explore on foot? We are within a 30 min walk to universities, hospitals, historic sites, and the downtown core.
The space is ideal for 2, but will stretch to a family of 4 quite comfortably with the sofa bed. The kitchenette is well-equipped for those who wish to eat some simple meals "at home", rather than relying on restaurants. Please note there is a small fridge, a microwave, and a 2-burner stove, but no oven.
Guests are welcome to share the cozy courtyard/garden just outside the entry to the suite, which in good weather can be a lovely place to unwind with afternoon tea or a pre-dinner cocktail.
Please note we do not book for stays longer than 28 consecutive days.

About the host
Hosted by Isabel at West End Suite

We are not property moguls and this is our only rental unit, so you will not be competing for our attention should you want to speak with us during your stay. We are long-time Halifax residents who enjoy helping others discover the beauty of Nova Scotia. Although new to VRBO, we are not new to hosting and are very proud of the consistently positive feedback and reviews we have received over the years - it is very rewarding to see guests enjoying their visit!
Why they chose this property
This is a quiet, family-oriented, and tree-lined residential neighborhood tucked between some main streets. All the basic services (shops, bus lines, playgrounds, cafes, restaurants, neighborhood pubs) are within a couple blocks of us. The downtown core, main business district, hospitals, and universities are all within a 30 minute walk / 10 minute drive / 15 minute bus ride. Opportunities for kayaking, lake swimming, cycling, and seaside walks are all close by.
What makes this property unique
Our space is simple, clean, and cozy rather than flashy or luxurious. We have intentionally created the kind of space that we look for when travelling to other cities: a place to relax, refresh, and regroup between meetings or adventures.
