About this property

ENCHANTED CABIN with private beach access.

Modern woodsy Northwest cabin with private beach access for swimming and loading boats. Nestled in the pine trees and surrounded by the majestic Rocky Mountains it boasts a short walk to a private sandy beach for swimming, loading your boat, fishing and water sports.
The comfortable great looking, fun cabin itself offers quiet privacy, a completely fenced in rear area for your dog or children, a great fire pit out front for roasting marshmallows or s'mores or simply gazing at the fire on Montana's chill summer nights and gazing at the stars or occasional full moon. You can also gaze at all from the comfort of the large front porch.
In side the house you will enjoy the superfast WiFi and the 55" TV in the living area complete with Roku.
For added convenience, there is also a 49" television in the Master Bredroom.
The kitchen has all the modern amenities, electric flat top stove, refrigerator, microwave, two types of coffee makers, brewed and Keurig, practically all the pots and pans and cooking utensils you could need.
I think the most wonderful thing about the house is that it is set in the midst of so much beauty and it's tranquility brings peace to the soul.
It is also a wonderful place for your dog to run free if you have one because the oversized rear is completely fenced in yet filled with plant life and things dogs love to smell and explore.
The cabin is the gateway to so many things: Echo Lake of course; it is also at the foot of the exquisite hiking area Jewel Basin; it is also at the gateway to Glacier National Park, the treasure of the continent; it is also in Bigfork, where one can find art galleries, sculptures, world renowned food, and a noted Bigfork Summer Playhouse. COME, HAVE A BLAST, EXPLORE. FIND YOUR PEACE.
Disinfectants used to to keep the place sterile.

Great getaway week!
We brought our two dogs with us for a week away from the world, and had a nice relaxing stay. The cabin is just a few minutes outside Big Fork, and has a big fenced back yard for the dogs to play. All necessary appliances in the kitchen, plenty of towels and bathroom supplies. Diane was welcoming and responsive. Great place to get away!

Great stay in the Kalispell area
This was a very well kept and resourced cabin with a number of advantages. It had most of the appliances necessary to make a stay go well along with an inside bathroom, capable of operating as a small house. Check in and check out were easy and the landlord was friendly and helpful. The location turned out to be flexible, which we needed. It is a 40-45 min drive to Glacier Park, but Kalispell is close for market needs and when smoke closed down most of the park, there was one of the few sandy beaches in the area close by with a private access, along with a state park on flathead lake, and a fire pit. We did pay a bit higher price than some other options, but if you have kids, pets, and/or want an inside bathroom this is one of the few and better options. We had a dog, and the place turned out to be excellent for anyone who want to bring a dog. We had all the supplies like dishes, towels, and paper products provided, which made things more comfortable. Overall it was a good base for what we needed.

About the host

Hosted by Diane Silver

Host profile image
Diane has a long history of being a magazine editor in New York, and an entertainment writer and film and television producer in Hollywood. Twenty years ago or so she decided to edge out of that rat race and bought this property as a summer home, and opened up a store in Bigfork just so she wouldn't grow too bored in those summer months . As those first few years were away and Diane drove back and forth between LA and Montsna she found the beauty of Montsna captivated her more and more each time she returned. Gradually the pull was immense. She could no longer ignore it. Diane , in s brief career, had accomplished her own mission, much of what she personally wanted to in Hollywood. She did not know that a personal health crisis was on the proverbial horizon, but she did feel a bit tired and the besutybof Montana was beckoning. Do she decided to make the peaceful cabin her on Alpine Drive het permanent on home or at least her permanent temporary home.

Why they chose this property

The cabin on Alpine Drive was perfect for Diane. It's setting could not have been more peaceful. Surrounded by 80 foot ponevyreescthst blanketed her privacy and solitude
The giant Rockies right outside. The added bonus of a private beach. with formidable sunsets reflected on Echo Lake -- or as she liked to say echoed on the lake.
The location could not be more different from her high paced life of New York or LA, instead of passing marquees or overflowing outdoor cafes or impassable traffic jambs, she would pass llamas grazing in the fields, haystacks placed far apart, cows of course, or just acres of burnt orange alfalfa. What the heck? There wasn't a valet in sight. Anywhere. No stress. There was no best table in the room
You really could where kind of sweat clothes to the super market. You could be seated next to anybody at a fundraiser and you wouldn't know it.
But it might not be likely you'd fall in love with a woodsman, but who cares.
If anyone cared what year your car was you'd never know it and you certainly didn't care what car they drove because mostly it was pickup trucks or indeterminate SUVs.
Certainly there were very rich people in the forest, but they didn't seem to care if you weren't. They seemed to care if you were interesting or interesting to them
